One Week Away: Free Cape Ann Jewish Cultural Festival Set to Fill Stage Fort Park with Music, Culture, and Family Fun

Community celebration on June 14 invites the North Shore to experience Jewish pride, joy, food, music, art, and connection

Gloucester, MA — In just one week, Stage Fort Park will come alive with Jewish music, culture, food, art, and family fun as the Cape Ann Jewish Cultural Festival returns to Gloucester on Sunday, June 14, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The festival is free, family-friendly, and open to the entire community, welcoming people of all backgrounds from Cape Ann, and across the North Shore.

Hosted by Chabad Jewish Center of Cape Ann, the festival offers a joyful and welcoming way to experience Jewish culture in the heart of Cape Ann. Guests will enjoy live klezmer music, free children’s activities, artists and vendors, and kosher food available for purchase.

More than just a festival, organizers say the event is meant to be a public celebration of connection, belonging, and Jewish joy.

“At a time when Jewish identity is so often spoken about in the context of challenges, this festival offers something different,” said Rabbi Avremi Raichik, director of Chabad Jewish Center of Cape Ann. “It is a chance to celebrate Jewish life openly, proudly, and joyfully through music, food, art, family, and community.”

The Cape Ann Jewish Cultural Festival was created to bring people together and share the richness of Jewish culture with the broader community. The event is designed for all ages, whether attendees come for the music, the food, the kids’ activities, the vendors, or simply to enjoy an uplifting afternoon by the Gloucester waterfront.

“This is not only for the Jewish community,” Rabbi Raichik said. “It is for neighbors, families, friends, and anyone who wants to be part of a warm, meaningful, and joyful community celebration.”

Organizers are encouraging attendees to reserve free tickets in advance so they can prepare for the crowd.

Join the Cast and Crew to bring Alice’s Magical Adventures in Wonderland to life

THE CAPE ANN YMCA SUMMER PERFORMANCE CAMP
JULY 6 – JULY 31

PERFORMANCES: July 30 & July 31 on Stage at the Cape Ann YMCA @ CAY

News from Heidi Dallin:

The 2026 Cape Ann YMCA Performance Camp runs from July 6th through July 31st, culminating in two public performances of the fresh new musical adaptation of Alice in Wonderland JR outside on the turf at the Cape Ann YMCA . The camp meets Monday – Friday from 9am to 4pm at the Rockport Teen Center, 32 Pooles Lane, Rockport. MA. The Cape Ann YMCA Summer Performance Camp welcomes participants ages 6-17 of all experience levels and introduces them to the basics of professional theatre. Students work alongside theatre professionals in acting, music, dance, stage management, and scenic, prop and costume design while building confidence, communication and teamwork skills.

The 2026 Performance Camp brings to life Alice’s travels through the curious world of Wonderland. In this charming updated retelling of the classic Lewis Carroll stories, Alice encounters the ever-tardy White Rabbit; 3 grinning Cheshire Cats; a cool Caterpillar; the wacky Mad Hatter; Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee; a temperamental Queen; the King, her henpecked Husband; and many more beloved Wonderland characters.

This new musical adaptation includes beloved Disney songs—”I’m Late,” “The Unbirthday Song,” and “Painting the Roses Red”—as well as music from the 2010 Tim Burton live-action film.

Whether this is your first experience with Alice or your hundredth, you’ll lose your head (and your heart) for this new Alice in Wonderland JR.

A Spring Visit To Russell Orchards

We found that one of our favorite spots has re-opened for the season so we stopped by Russell Orchards in Ipswich to see what was what. As usual, their offerings of baked goods, fresh in season fruits, ice cream, wine and more kept us happily entertained. The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful. It’s a pleasure to stop by there several times throughout the season.

When you order the Cornbread Skillet, 10% of sales are donated to The Open Door to help aid in their mission to fight food insecurity across our community.

We’re excited to be the first restaurant to launch this new initiative, which will be expanding to all Serenitee restaurants in the months ahead—creating more opportunities to support the local organizations that make a difference where we live and work.
