I’m good with “visiting” the snow!
I love “visiting” the snow up in NH and I’m hoping we are going to be spared with just a dusting of this white stuff tomorrow! But I’ll have the shovel ready just in case!

Normally, I’d Love a Run in With George Clooney…
Normally, I’d love a run in with George Clooney, but not so much hanging all large as life in the bathroom at a restaurant. Not even just in the bathroom but actually like right above the toilet.
Weird.

Before The Flood
A Movie that Will Move You:
Join us for a screening of Before The Flood
As we watch the presidential cabinet fill with representatives of the fossil fuel industry and climate deniers, it is important for we the people to maintain a grounding in sound science and activism. To this end, on Thursday January 5, 2017, 7 PM at the Cape Ann Cinema, the leaders from our environmental breakout session organized a screening to show excerpts from Fisher Stevens and Leonardo DiCaprio’s new film, Before The Flood. This epic documentary follows DiCaprio as he explores the dramatic and destructive changes that climate warming has brought to our planet, looks, unflinchingly into the future, and explores the changes required by governments, industry, and people if we are to survive.
“Try to have a conversation with anyone about climate change, and people just tune out. And the problem seems to be getting worse, and worse, and worse,” DiCaprio’s voice-over takes us into the crux of the film. However, it is our voices that will lead us out as viewers become participants: responding to what we are seeing, learning about organizations on the North Shore galvanized to address these issues, and generating our own ideas on how each of us can stand in the path of climate warming and reclaim our planet.
Host: NorthShore 350, Citizens Climate Lobby and Action Together North Shore, MA: our new North Shore Environmental Coalition
- Location: The Cape Ann Cinema & Stage at 21 Main St in Gloucester
- Doors open at 7, Film excerpt starts at 7:30, discussion to follow
- Movie: Before the Flood
- Admission: $11
We hope to see you there!

Post Christmas Pikachu Twerk.
Did you know that there’s a company in Gloucester that builds custom cabinetry far better than anywhere else?
There’s something you should take note of in this picture-

You see how this entire unit is built as one piece? That means there aren’t any ugly seams everything is built far greater than the standards you would get from any box store where they just put cabinet pieces together like legos.
Here’s James Padre Displaying a cabinet unit under construction for a custom home in Rockport MA.
From their website-
“Padre Construction Inc. is owned and managed by third generation builder James P. Padre and specializes in high quality custom new home construction including additions to existing homes. We also offer custom woodworking and cabinetry in our own workshop.
We are staffed with knowledgeable office staff, project coordinators and highly skilled craftsman. Our construction crews are courteous, conscientious, professional and strive for the highest level of workmanship. We are fully equipped for all residential and light commercial projects offering excavation equipment, moving machinery, generators, a full line of updated power tools and our own custom woodworking shop.”

The Holidays: A Time of Discovery
More Cape Ann Health and Wellness News-

The holidays may be one of the few times that we have the opportunity to truly gather together as a family due to life’s schedules and proximity of our loved ones. For those who traveled to a loved one this past weekend, it may be the time when you noticed things are changing with mom or dad. While you’ve connected often on the phone, the extended time together may have provided a deeper look at their daily lives. Perhaps you noticed they were repeating themselves more often or that they appeared to be having more difficulty getting around. Couple this insight with the resolve that married couples may attach to the “for better or for worse” marriage vow. “No one can care for you as well as I can” or “I’m your husband, it’s my duty to care for you.” It’s important as families to talk to one another about…
