Local women retailers and colleagues from Gloucester, Essex, Ipswich and Rowley met early last spring about working together to market their businesses. These street level shops represent 4 cities and towns, and share a regional ‘Main Street’ – Route 133/1A, part of the gorgeous 90 mile Essex Coastal Scenic Byway. The new Woman Owned Businesses Along The Essex Coastal Scenic Byway brochure will be in stores before Labor Day. I’ll re-post with higher resolution images and final copy when it’s unveiled. While you’re exploring this contemporary woman owned businesses trail, don’t miss the fantastic historic exhibition The Women of Essex – Stories to Share show sponsored by the Essex Historical Society and Shipbuilding Museum, on display on the 3rd Floor of the Essex Town Hall and Library, 30 Martin Street (Route 22), Essex.
Fun route is easy to follow
#1 Pauline’s Gifts, Gloucester
#2 Essex Bird Shop & Pet Supply, Essex
#3 Sea Meadow Gifts and Gardens, Essex
#4 The Essex Exchange, Essex
#5 Olde Ipswich Shop & Gallery, Ipswich*
#6 AnnTiques, Ipswich
#7 Be Modern, Ipsiwch
#8 Lost Treasures, Rowley
#9 Serendipity at Todd’s Farm, Rowley
*Johanne Cassia, who owns Olde Ipswich Shop & Gallery –#5 on the new map–painted the illustration of their businesses featured on the brochure.

I’ve included a few scenes from The Women of Essex – Stories to Share exhibition at Essex Town Hall and the renovated bright space on the top floor, accessible for all.

Hi folks at good morning Gloucester. I am Susan W Daly and am having an open house to show my art works this weekend. Marilyn Swift(met her at the farmer’s market) said that you were great about getting information out to the public. My show will be this Sat and Sun (Aug26 and 27) at my home at 20 Rear Bungalow Road in Gloucester. I paint landscapes, abstracts and monotypes in watermedia only. I use watercolor, water based oils and acrylics. I am a member of North Shore Art Association, Rockport Art Association and the New England Watercolor Association. Thank you very much if you can get this info out as I have had no luck with the Gloucester Times.

Do you have kids? If the answer is yes, then you need to check out Happy Belly. You can have great food, COCKTAILS [or wine] and your kids don’t have to sit still. I repeat, siting still is not required.
Just think: You don’t have to juggle your desire to have an adult conversation with your role as restaurant-crayon conflict negotiator (we all have been there, when every child needs to use the blue crayon at that moment or they may die).
PLUS your kids will actually have fun too!
Happy Belly is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner at 3 Duncan Street in Gloucester http://www.HappyBellyGloucester.com 978.317.7571

We are enjoying a beautiful few days in Kansas City and especially some Baseball in our annual field tour! We are hitting our 12th ballpark here at Kaufman Field.

One thing we try to do each year while we enjoy the game and tour the fields is fund what delicacy each park is infamous for. Kaufman Field boasts the “pulled pork patty melt” which is a funnel cake, with pulled pork, cheddar and Monterey cheese, jalapeño, onion straws and coleslaw sprinkled with powdered sugar. Sounds unappetizing but surprisingly it was pretty good! The second item was a sunrise dog which was a hot dog with sausage gravy, bacon, cheese and fried egg on top. That one was not so appetizing lol!

Check out this car spotted in Maui!
Despite the fact that they’re not representing GMG, it’s pretty cool to see the Gloucester Pride being displayed so far away.
Thanks to Peter Horovitz for snapping this photo!

Come closer, take a peek inside our office…doesn’t it feel inviting? Better yet, contact us to book a wellness consultation or a message and experience the warmth and tranquilly for yourself

The Sargent House Museum invites you to attend our Free Back to School Internship Day on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. While the event is free to the public, donations are encouraged in order to support our Summer High School Internship Program in the hopes of expanding the program in the future.
Unlike our traditional tours, the Back to School Internship Day is an opportunity for the public to explore the house at their leisure while our interns educate visitors in each room. The Summer High School Internship Program provided students with an opportunity to explore the life, times, writings, and home of Judith Sargent Murray, a pioneering advocate of women’s education and equality. That said, this event is the culminating event for the internship program which consisted of a ten-week project-based program individually designed and executed by each intern. Interns’ projects explored areas…
