💗🤗The Snowy Day US Postal stamps (and hello Virginia Lee Burton)
I LOVE that the 2017 US Postal Service celebrates Ezra Jack Keats classic picture book, The Snowy Day (1962), on a forever stamp. What a great addition to a long line of children’s picture books, characters, authors and illustrators that have been commemorated on U.S. postage stamps. Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee takes suggestions…Ok, everyone, please let them know VIRGINIA LEE BURTON is a must. Burton received a Caldecott Medal as did Keats. Katy and the Big Snow would make a great winter stamp. It’s easy to envision a plethora of sheets celebrating Burton: vehicles, scenes, beloved characters, her design and typesetting. Winter boats: Tug tows container ship by #GloucesterMA coast to…which port?
A horizon vista on an early gray December morning, a challenge for the naked eye with just a phone camera and binoculars. In the photo, the tugboat is approaching the direction of Thacher Island. I couldn’t identify the Tugboat and container ship (if that’s what it was); maybe a GMG reader will help.

Hello Coyote
We were driving down Nugent Stretch, from Rockport to Gloucester, yesterday at 10:45 in the morning when Finn swore that he saw a coyote on the side of the road. He made me turn around to prove that he was right….and I was glad that I did. There, rolling around like a puppy in the grass on the lawn of the Sea Lion hotel, was a lone coyote. I drove past him, turned around again, and pulled over safely to take some photos. Yet again only equipped with my iPhone, I sadly couldn’t get great shots, but he was super close and didn’t mind me snapping photos for a little bit before he got up and trotted away to the house next door up on the hill.

SUPER SLICK AMAZON PHISHING SCAMS
Jus saying, please be careful friends ~
Especially during the holiday gift giving season, you may find in your inbox some pretty slick looking scams. This last one came from “AS – Amazon Support” after a recent order was placed, claiming my payment method had been declined. AS is also the initials of the scammer, Andre Shamido, who wanted an updated payment method provided.
It didn’t come through when I converted the following scam email to a jpg, but the scammers “Update your payment method” was displayed within a gold-colored box, similar to the gold Amazon uses to highlight ordering information when Amazon wants you to click on a link.
Amazon will never send an unsolicited e-mail that asks you to provide sensitive information.
