If you would like an 8 x12 print of the “Super Blue Blood Moon Over Gloucester’s UU Church” photo, please place your order by emailing me at kimsmithdesigns@hotmail.com, commenting in the comment section of this post, or facebook messaging me. We are printing a limited edition at 95.00 each, which includes shipping and tax. The image will be a giclee print on fine art hot press paper.
We will accept checks or cash. Place your order by February 8th and payment must be received by February 15th. The limited edition images will be printed that week and mailed immediately. Your order is not placed until you have received a confirmation of payment.
If this system works smoothly, I think we’ll do the “We Love You Too Snowy Owl” or Piping Plovers “OctoPop” next 🙂

This Sunday, February 11th, three children’s choirs will combine to present a festival concert at the Gloucester UU Church at 4:00pm, hosted by the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation. We are late getting out the publicity but hoping that our partners will be able to help using their email, blogs and social media.

Exploring the Feminine, The Rising
Sunday, March 4, 1-4pm $70 Gloucester
Many traditions mark the rising of spring in mid-February when a thrumming begins deep in the earth. Feminine archetypes speak of “the Return.” What was buried through the winter now begins to wake and rise up. Shoots of green return, sparks of revelation appear. In this workshop we’ll listen to what is rising in us and how we might engage with this part of the creative cycle. There will be space for writing and voice; poetry and image; and sharing in a supportive circle of women.
Writing from the Body
Wednesdays: Feb. 28, March 7, 14, 21; 10am-12pm $200 Gloucester
Words live in the body, rise up from the marrow. Writing is full of physicality, the hand moves across paper with each breath and our voice carries an aliveness whether written or spoken. This is a writing series to foster the unbridled and embodied voice. Through prompts and poetry, silence and sound, we’ll discover what is cooking in the body’s imagination turning toward Spring.
Creativity Coaching for Art and Life
Individual coaching for those seeking support in defining a project or moving forward an existing project, such as art or writing. Nadine Boughton, M.A., is a collage artist, writer/poet, coach and teacher. Her art is represented by the Trident Gallery in Gloucester and is exhibited, collected and published internationally. Her writing has been published in literary journals and trade books. As a creativity coach Nadine’s work draws from her twenty-five plus years as a psychotherapist, birth doula, and her long study of spiritual traditions and the iconography of the Feminine. Nadine holds an M.A. in Expressive Therapy from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA.

This meeting is an INFORMATIONAL PUBLIC HEARING to address any questions and explain the CDBG RFP requirements and to obtain the views of the citizens of Gloucester regarding the CDBG Program. The Grants Division of the Community Development Department will be seeking proposals from qualified organizations, agencies, or individuals for its Program Year 2018 (PY18) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The CDBG Program is designed to promote safe, sanitary, and affordable housing, encourage handicapped accessibility, improve public facilities, support social service and job training activities, provide economic development assistance, and improve the living environment for low- and moderate-income residents of the City of Gloucester. The 2018 CDBG Program is expected to be funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Funding of proposals is contingent upon receipt of funding from HUD.

As I write, it’s yet another cold, grey day, but GAAC has the perfect antidote to February — on Friday night, February 9 at 8:00pm, we will bring you our annual evening of astrophotography.
Five of our best astrophotographers will each show off a handful of favorite pictures they’ve taken of galaxies, nebulae and other astronomical objects, and will tell you what each one is, how big and far away it is, and any interesting issues they had getting the shot.
This event is always a colorful, fun and exciting evening, one that will leave you with a new appreciation of what these folks do, as well as a lot of new knowledge about the strange, distant and compelling objects they photograph.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR FESTIVAL IN GLOUCESTER!
Children’s Choir Festival Makes First Gloucester Appearance on Sunday
Nearly three dozen young voices will be joined in song on Sunday, February 11th beginning at 4 p.m. in the 10th annual Children’s Choir Festival. It will be held in the Sanctuary of the historic 1806 Gloucester Meetinghouse, home of the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church, on the green at the corner of Middle and Church Street. This is a wonderful event for the whole family to enjoy!
The singers, ages 5 through 18, are from three Episcopal churches, St. John’s of Gloucester, Christ Church in Andover, and All Saints Church in Chelmsford, assembled to give them an opportunity to sing as part of a larger ensemble in a grand space with a bigger audience than their home choir situations permit.
