Hammond Castle Gift Shop Features Local Vendors
I was aware local artists are featured on a monthly basis at the Hammond Castle Gift Shop but I did not know that store manager Rebecca Pearson works hard to incorporate local vendors into the shop’s offerings. GMG Jimmy was especially intrigued by the Christmas Jam. He said “I don’t know how they do it, but it really tastes like Christmas!”. It’s worth checking out if you’re driving by. No admission for checking out the gift shop.

GUSTER HEADLINING RIVERFEST SEASIDE MUSIC FESTIVAL SATURDAY AUGUST 24TH!!!
Less than a week from Riverfest! Headliners Guster will be on from 4:30 to 6:00. GO HERE for the complete line-up and more information.
We heard you when you told us we’d outgrown the venue in Newburyport. So, we’re excited to share that Riverfest is moving to a new, larger venue — beautiful Stage Fort Park, Gloucester, overlooking Gloucester Harbor.
And we’ve also moved the event up one week from its traditional Labor Day weekend. The event will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019, 12-6pm.
But something that definitely hasn’t changed — Riverfest will continue to be free and open to the public, as it’s always been.
We’re stoked about the future for this popular, annual event, and we hope you’ll join us on August 24th for an awesome day of live music and great vibes!
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Riverfest Seaside Music Festival is a free show open to the public, now in it’s 18th year! Because of the popularity of this event, attendees are encouraged to get there early with blankets & chairs for a day of great live music!
Help keep Gloucester and Stage Fort Park beautiful! Please do not leave behind cigarette butts, trash, food, etc. Put all trash/recycling in proper barrels.
Dogs and other pets must be on a leash at all times.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in Stage Fort Park, except within the designated age 21+ area(s) specially permitted during this event.

Our Poll On The Legitimacy of Their Underwear Changing Poll:
So we reported this story that’s gone viral about an underwear company that conducted a poll which concluded that nearly half of Americans don’t change their underwear daily.
I’m calling bullshit.
I’m guessing that the results were fabricated because the marketing folks at said underwear company knew the story would go viral and give the radio jockeys, newscasters and bloggers something to talk about (and look at us taking the bait) and it would gain exposure for the underwear company.
What do you think? vote in our poll about the legitimacy of the poll-
THIS. IS. BANANAS.

“A new online survey reveals some unpleasant truths about American’s underwear habits: According to a poll conducted by underwear brand Tommy John, nearly half of Americans admit they’ve worn the same drawers for two or more days in a row.
The survey, which polled 2,000 men and women, revealed that 45 percent of respondents have ignored their mother’s warning about always having on a fresh pair. What’s more, a full 13 percent cop to wearing the same panties for a week or more.”
We are so grateful to have received the Editor’s Choice Award & the Reader’s Choice Award for Best Hotel from Northshore Magazine!

“It is hard to beat the views at the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester. From its classically appointed rooms and suites to its rooftop pool and dining choices, the Beauport is really a special place. It’s also one of the most in-demand meeting and special event venues, so engaged couples should not delay!” – Northshore Magazine

I refuse to believe that nearly half of Americans don’t change their underwear daily.

DEB HARDY ROCKS WITH RHYTHM AND ROOTS
August 23 free concert on Meetinghouse Green
Cape Ann based Deb Hardy Band will rock Meetinghouse Green on Friday, August 23, from 6.00 PM to 8.30 PM, at the eighth free concert of the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation’s legendary summer concert series.
Deb Hardy’s musicianship reflects the drama, beauty and serenity of our ocean community. Her unique style of singing and guitar playing has been described as ‘rhythmic, expressive and powerful’. Hardy and her band, including musicians, Greg Verga, Arnie Rosen, and Marc Lorah, perform rhythm and roots songs that will have concert-goers on their feet. Their high energy alternative rock, folk, blues, soul, and classical music will appeal to the most discriminating music lovers. You will hear influences as wide-ranging as Kate Bush, Yes, and Led Zeppelin.
Each week Music on Meetinghouse Green partners with a different non-profit organization to raise awareness for the services they provide to the local community. At the August 23 concert, the audience is invited to contribute a freewill donation to the Gloucester Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that creates and expands opportunities for students and teachers of the Gloucester Public School District. Gloucester-based restaurant Jalapeno’s will provide delicious Mexican fresh food for concert-goers.
The Gloucester Meetinghouse, home of the Unitarian Universalist Church, is located at the corner of Church and Middle Streets. The concert is handicapped accessible. Event parking is available on the green and at additional parking lots nearby in the Historic District. Folding chairs will be provided or bring your own beach chair or blanket. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside the Meetinghouse.
The Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation is grateful to our 2019 sponsors who made this series possible:
