SET TO BEGIN AT GLOUCESTER STAGE COMPANY
ADVANCED TEEN ACTING CLASS, STAGE COMBAT & MASTER ACTING CLASS WITH LINDSAY CROUSE ADDED TO CLASS SCHEDULE
Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops is accepting students 5-19 for the Fall Session 2019. The six week Youth Acting Workshop Fall Session meets for a total of four hours per week for six weeks from September 13 through October 19. The Fall 2019 Session features Acting Instruction taught by award winning actress, Harvard graduate and Gloucester native Heidi Dallin; a Master Acting Class with Academy Award nominee Lindsay Crouse; Stage Combat/ SwordPlay with Tom Kee from Showtime’s City on a Hilland GSC’s To Kill A Mockingbird; Acting for the Camera, Performing Shakespeare and Movement/Action Theatre with 2019 Education Apprentice Liana Genoud and the Improv Olympics with Ryan Cannister.
Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops are designed to provide young people an outlet to nurture their creative potential through developing self-confidence, communication and teamwork skills to use in their daily life as well as introducing them to the skills necessary for professional theatre.
Registration is open for the FALL 2019 Session. Students are divided in classes according to age. The Children’s Class (ages 5-10) meets Fridays, 4:30-6:30pm and Saturdays, 9-11am. The Advanced Teen Class (age 14-19) meets Fridays, 2:30-4:30 pm and Saturdays, 11-1 pm. The Teen Class (ages 11-13) meets Saturdays, 9-1pm. Step Back to 1948
I was delighted to find a 1948 Polk’s City Directory for Gloucester at Dogtown Books with the area map intact! I thought you might like a little taste of 1948 Gloucester:

City Officers 1948. What names do you recognize? Anyone as curious about the Superintendent Brown Tail and Gypsy Moth , City Forester, Forest Warden’s duties? I’m also wondering about the Fence Viewers (?)

And here’s a fun tidbit from the Gloucester Daily Times June 7 1948. “See history being made before your very eyes.” This post is in memory of my mom, who’s birthday it is today. She would have been 14 and likely been glued to the new phenomenon television.
