My View of Life on the Dock

Share the Music and Friends, an ensemble of 25 singers, which has been in existence since 1999, known for its performances for worthwhile charity organizations locally and around the North Shore area, is presenting a free program to honor our Veterans of all wars. Sunday November 10 at the American Legion, Post No 3 at 2 PM, 24 singers will share songs from the Revolutionary War, WWI and WWII, Vietnam, and present day conflicts. Free will donations will benefit the many beneficial service projects of the Legion. Monday, Veterans Day, November 11 at 2 pm in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1123 Washington Street, gratefully accepted donations will provide help for Company 2 Heroes, a unique service dog training program specializing in guided/assisted self-training of service dogs working with combat veterans from all wars.
Doors open for both programs at 1:30 PM. Both venues are handicapped accessible.

GMG received an email from Juni VanDyke, Art Program Director at the Rose Baker Senior Center which stated:
Have you ever wanted to learn how to smoke competition level ribs in your own backyard? How about cooking them in a Pit Barrel Cooker? Well, Saturday at 11am until 2pm, come join GMG’s Craig Kimberley, of Youtube’s BBQ iT Show , Team B&B, & North East BBQ, and learn, ask questions and eat some AMAZING RIBS!!
The melodious notes of the Song Sparrow are heard from sunup ’til sundown, spring, summer, and fall. Their beautiful song is most welcome, especially at this time of year when there are fewer songbirds on our shores and many that remain through the winter months don’t sing during the non-breeding season.
Song Sparrows have adapted to a wide variety of habitats. Despite the narrowness of the strip of land that separates freshwater Niles Pond from salty Brace Cove, Song Sparrows find plenty to forage on and excellent cover in the shrubby undergrowth found there.
