A Quint-mas Carol
1931 Gloucester Times Story About Pauline Bresnahan’s Great Grandfather that learned about his wife’s passing only after returning from a trip aboard the Schooner Morning Star and died himself shortly thereafter.

Pauline writes:
Many of you might not know that I’m 4th. Generation Gloucester born. This story is about my Paternal Great Grandfather published in the Gloucester Times 1931. My Great grandfather fished out of #Gloucesterma on the Morning Star and when came home from fishing he was informed of his wife’s passing. He passed away a few weeks later. Fishing was part of my heritage. My fathers ancestors arrived here in the 1860’s from Nova Scotia and My Moms ancestors even earlier arrived here from Ireland. God Bless the men and women who still work to bring fish to Gloucester. I am #gloucesterproud
Who Can’t Love Snow? — pat morss
Here are some weekend photos around Eastern Point following the snowstorm. Regarding the first, the closest conjunction (visual) of Saturn and Jupiter since the Middle Ages is right now. I knew it would be overcast, so got this picture last Friday.

Look what I found in the Dining Room

Poor little bird was so scared. Opened the sliding door and gently guided this little bird back outside.

At the end of Saturday there was just a peek of color as the sun went down.

Mask Hack
A mask-hack you might find helpful: When the eyeglass chain I had been using to keep my mask around my neck broke, I was a little frantic for a quick fix. I attached safety pins to each end of a necklace and VOILA! Problem solved. A necklace and safety pins make a pretty and functional way to keep my mask nearby. You’re welcome. Please share your own mask hack in the comments!
