Today’s snowrise sunrise fit the “snow’s coming!” forecast. Classic winter sky. Cloudy and color blocked pale yellow and blue-greys.

Finn has always kind of liked to cook….especially when it comes to baking with my mom….but all of a sudden he has been asking to cook dinner once a week or so. Several months ago he started making some new fun things for his lunchbox….his signature snack is a bell pepper stuffed with cream cheese and everything-bagel seasoning. He has been making all sorts of things in the air fryer…especially fried pickles. Suddenly, however, he has kicked it up a notch and is making the main course at dinner as well. A couple of weeks ago it was steak with a butter basil sauce and last night it was feta, cherry tomatoes, basil and special seasoning over penne pasta. I could just used to this!

It might have been miserable during the recent snow, but the following day was nothing but beautiful and calm. It was especially quiet on Harbor Loop in the post storm peace.
I was outside Saturday at sunset waiting for our turkeys to fly up into the trees for the night. They were a bit late, so I walked up the driveway and didn’t see them. Coming back down, the first hopped up from behind our neighbor’s fence, and we were equally surprised. Then 2, 3, 4 were on the fence. Apprensive of me, they didn’t drop down to walk across the driveway as usual – they flew one at a time directly from the fence into the trees. By now the other 5 knew something was up, and they flew straight from behind the fence.
Last evening the group faced a different challenge, and caucused in the snow storm discussing the best flight path. They walked back up the driveway, presumably to fly in from the plowed road.
Pure evil.
