Looks cold, feels cold. Ready for spring! Weather looks like it may get warm again towards the end of this week. Fingers crossed.

We met friends for dinner at the Brown Dog on Central Ave in Ipswich recently. I think our fellow GMG contributor Nichole has recommended this place previously and I have been wanting to try it out for a while. It was a quiet weeknight and social distancing was not a challenge. The tavern atmosphere is cozy and warm. The masked staff was very friendly and helpful.
I tried the Reuben Sandwich, which I’d heard was highly recommended and it was very satisfying! Big enough to use a knife, but small enough to pick up. I also had their hand cut potato chips…a treat. Jim had the mac and cheese burger, which (as you can see) was mountainous. Irish coffee finished the wonderful meal for me. We’ll be back! I suggest you give it a try if you have not.

Select low number Cape Ann license plates between 2-100 will be available to the highest bidders through an online auction beginning Monday, March 22, with all proceeds going the Cape Ann Community Foundation which supports local charitable inititives and organizations.
The auction will conclude on Monday, March 29. Every Massachusetts resident who wants to display their love and support for Cape Ann will have a chance to secure a coveted lo-number Cape Ann license plate.
“Since its inception in 2015, the Foundation has granted over $50,000 to Cape Ann non-profits, and the sale of these license plates have made this possible,” said Ruth Pino, president of the Cape Ann Community Foundation. “Now people have even more reason to show their pride in Cape Ann, with the funds raised through this low-number plate auction helping to build the Foundation’s reserves and enable us to do even more for our local communities.”

March madness….

We are going to be prepping (sanding and scraping and painting) the two practice boats for the season inside the garage at the Heritage Center. We need to finish the boats as soon as possible. We can work on the boats anytime during the day or night since the boat will be inside. If you have time please contact Geno Mondello at 978-879-9505 so he can open the garage for you. We will get sand paper and paint there this week. Any one with extension cords, sanders, scraper or able arms please bring them. The more people that help the faster we get the boats in. Also, we will need to clean up after each prepping.
Thank you in advance for your help.

In between snow squalls and sunshine, we stopped at the Fishermen’s Wives Memorial and noticed she casts a long shadow, not surprisingly….. Always stunning.
