Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday held during the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the United States during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. This Saturday is always the last one in November, so it falls between November 24 and November 30. Wikipedia

I stopped by the shop Present at 13 Main Street to see what there was to offer there. Boy, are there a lot of choices of wonderful items (think gifts especially) from so many of our local artists! Laurel was tending the store and she was making a decorative succulent dish to accompany the many other items in the store. You can see from these photos many familiar items along with and new work. I bought a necklace for the holidays….a gift to myself…… I highly recommend stopping by. Additional info available on their Facebook page here. Cheers! Shop local when you can!

Thank you Peek family. Yesterday was a sad but, beautiful day. Sally Peek laid her beloved, husband, partner, friend to rest, in the place where he wanted to be the most Magnolia Cemetery. As we celebrated Sandy’s life(great job Lisa Ramos don’t know how you did it, you were a rock) an amazing thing was happening down the street. A beautiful tree was being taken to Kent Cirle for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, which the family donated to the City in Sandy Peeks name.
We (Ringo Tarr and crew) usually go to Nova Scotia to get the tree ever year for 24+ years, last year with COVID was difficult but, this year basically impossible. You know when they say one door closes another opens..
Thank you Peek family..💖
Thank you Ringo Tarr, State Senator Bruce Tarr Ted Costa, Joanne Marks Anthony Marks, Emily Tarr and so many more Volunteers who make this happen every year COVID or not.. we as a city are grateful for volunteers like yourselves who give so much to our beautiful city.
It may be my last year as mayor excepting the tree, ( which it will be the most treasured because it’s from the Peeks a local family) but, it won’t be my last year attending, same person different title ( Me and proud of it)❤️

No Classes on Thursday November 25th for Thanksgiving
Nia Routine: Trio: The Music of George Gershwin
So many standards from the American Songbook were written by George Gershwin. Embraceable You, Our Love is Here to Stay and more. So many contemporary artists are revisiting and recording new versions of the old standards like Willie Nelson, Diana Krall, Linda Ronstadt. Why? Because this music is so timeless. And it’s great to dance to. We will be dancing to new versions of the Gershwin standards. Come join us at the Zoom Stardust Ballroom. Well at least join me in my basement studio and we will have fun dancing to the Tunes of George Gershwin.
Moving to Heal
Moving to Heal Nia is a slower, less intensive class with less standing and more done in the chair. Great for people with injuries or conditions that make it hard to participate in a classic…

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Bluefin Blowout Captains, crews, sponsors and fans! We have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving of 2021.
Although the tournament had to be postponed for many reasons including the most obvious, we were able to begin the planning for 2022.
The date has not been set yet as we need to work out the details with the Cape Ann’s Marina Resort, the City of Gloucester, and sponsors.
With less restrictions, we wish the Bluefin Blowout family a very delicious Thanksgiving with family and friends. In keeping with the philanthropic nature of the amazing Bluefin Blowout, the holidays provide many opportunities to give back. Please be generous this holiday season.
From Drew, Rob, Cidalia and Kruti, we all wish you the best Thanksgiving filled with delicious food, fishing stories and laughter.
Happy Thanksgiving
Warren Waugh and the Bluefin Blowout Team

Gloucester, November 11, 2021 – Successful
multimedia artist Anna Vojtech is opening her new Art
studio on Western Avenue in Magnolia to the public
for the first time.
This open studio event will showcase a wide
variety of Anna’s work spanning over four decades, including her exquisitely detailed botanical watercolors from
her collection “Wild Flowers For All Seasons”, as well as her beautiful, whimsical Illustrations for Children’s books.
She is most known for her illustrations for “The First Strawberries”, a Cherokee Story, which has sold almost four
millions copies.
This display will feature artwork beyond Vojtech’s acclaimed illustrations. The viewer will be able to
experience the depth of her artistic expression, whether it is expressed via canvas in her lush dream-scape
paintings, through her collection of secret geometry oil paintings, or fairy
tale-like abstractions where you can get lost and wander through the fields
of delicious colorscapes. Her paintings are deeply rooted in her connection
to Nature.
Anna’s expansive body of work can not be defined by genre or technique.
Her artwork rather captures emotion and true feelings we all know so well.
Through her use of color, expressed with sometimes painstakingly detailed
brush strokes, other times with bold strokes and splashes, she is able to
express a deeply personal journey which creates an emotional response in
the viewer that is familiar, sometimes beautiful, often mysterious and
occasionally painful. Come experience the magic of Anna Vojtech art in her
new studio in Magnolia.
Anna Vojtech, a native of Prague, Czech Republic, is a painter and an award

We like to stop by the Flying Dragon in Essex and just browse around the store for interesting items. This time we bought some old but functional and decorative salt and pepper shakers. There’s always a great deal to look at here at Flying Dragon. Don’t forget to check out the little barn along the side! And the signage in the front window changes to reflect the goings-on, so that’s always something to watch for.

From Brown’s-
· We just got word that more of the Zodiacs we have on order have started to show up on the Production Log roster. This means that we’ll be seeing more of them roll in as we approach the New Year. This week’s featured incoming boat is a Medline 580. Some of you may be already familiar with this model, but the color schemes have been updated to now feature a very yachty white-on-white look. Think of this one as a bigger and more comfortable Yachtline. She’ll be rigged with a Yamaha 115 for plenty of oomph. She’s rated for 12 persons (comfortable seating for
and has lots of storage in big lockers at bow and stern. Let us know if you want more info.
