Tonight . Chris Stovall Brown . Dave Sag’s Blues Party . The Rhumb Line . 8:30pm . November 19, 2015

dave sags

Dave says,

We’re cookin’ with aghast this time around with the crash landing of Mr. Chris “Stovall”
Brown on our shores. His clinically-approved method of guitarnomics and vocalizations will have you writhing in ecstasy on the dirty floor. Only Asgard®, the stain remover of the Gods, can help clean up this human stain. Pork crackling rants provided by Mr. Steevee Chaggarriss, finger popping somnambulist, and eardrum specialist. I’ll be there, too, whining about the tip jar once again. Hours 8:30 to 11:30.

Now,kids, next week sees Thanksgiving on Thursday, so to prepare your pyloric valve for the festivities, I’ll be moving to Wednesday night, dragging in the bone-breaking Mr. Orville Giddings and a cast of several including Mr. Marque Earley on honkophone, Mr. Kent Allyn, on keys, and Mr. Steevvee Chaaggaarriss (once again) on drummps. A special night! hours 9 to 12.
December is heart attack month. Read it and weep! My best shows!??!!
Dec. 3 Ms. Lisa Marie. Who knows who she’ll drag in?
Dec.10 Ricky “King” Russell and Johnny Bluehorn. Wait till you hear this guy! Otherworldly!
Dec.17 “Sax” Gordon Beadle with Eddie Scheer and mike DiBari. What can I say?
Dec. 24 and 31 off to the Gerald Ford Clinic for rehab. See you next year!

Dave Sag
“It’s time again for that clinically proven master of mayhem, Mr. Evan Goodrow. He’s flyin’ in on gossamer wings to drive all you kittens wild with his neatly shaven head and croon salivation. Makes me feel really old! Anyways, it’s always a pleasure to have him around to remind me of…what? Also, a new guy: Mr. Dave Moore, on pistons, will be handling the rhythm duties, so, cheer him on! showtime: 8:30 till 11:30.”

Special Guest: ALLEN ESTES!

Allen Estes has quietly-but-firmly held his tenure as Cape
Ann’s strongest original music artist for over three-and-a-half
decades under our very noses. His profound and loving lyrical
tributes to the local fishing community alone will surely stand
the test of time for generations to come. Allen has already
placed a personal stamp on our culture that will last forever.
To my definition, this is the true measure of success for us all. ~ Fly

Dave B and the Hot Shots Making their debut tonight @ The Dog Bar 10.24.2015

dave b and the hot shots

This is a tight 4 or 5 piece jump and R&B band – they’ve been together for over 20 years, and this is their first appearance in Gloucester!
Show em some love!

Dave B and the Hot Shots

This 5 piece group performing authentic interpretations of vintage R&B Jump Blues/New Orleans music from the late ‘40s through the mid ‘60s, was formed in the early ‘90s and retains three of it’s original members, Dave Birkin – sax/vocals, Mark Shelford – guitar/vocal, and Ken Steiner – acoustic bass/vocal. The current line up also includes Richard Malcolm – drums, and Jim Heffernan – keys.

In the early to mid ‘90s the group worked steadily in Fanuil Hall Market place at Cricket’s and The Marketplace Café. The group became active again in the mid 2000’s. For the past 2 ½ years the band has enjoyed a residency at a Worcester club “The Sahara” and semi-annual stints for Swing City in Somerville and Cambridge.

Pumpkin Caramel Halloween Cookie Bark

bark final

Pumpkin Caramel Halloween Bark

It’s no secret to my friends and family that Halloween is one of my most favorite holidays. As soon as my twins were old enough to sit up in their highchairs I had them cooking and crafting for Halloween. Each year our activities grew grander and our creativity in the kitchen did too! A few years ago I combined two of our all time favorite recipes, Pumpkin Caramel and Chocolate Cookie Bark together and confected this almost to pretty to eat Halloween treat! I promise you won’t be disappointed and either will the Ghosts and Goblins in your life!

“Sax” Gordon @ The Dave Sag’s Blues Party…The joint will be jumpin at The Rhumb Line tonight! 8:30-11:30pm 10.15.2015

dave sag bw rl

Dave says,

We’re going to reach terminal velocity this week, so if you got plans to stay home and iron your underwear, better go to confession and plan on destroying your liver instead.
Firstly, Mr. Gordon “Sax” Beadle returns to the Rhumb Line stage this Thursday. My favorite guest star, if you haven’t seen or heard of him, you must crawl out from under that rock that you’ve been hiding and put on your sailing shoes! This guy will tear your tonsils out with his own unique brand of saxophone mayhem. Always gets the crowd going wild. Not only that, but Ed “Ed” Scheer, my favorite four-on the-floor frontman and drummbler, will be holding down the beat and handling vocal duties. Furthermore, Mr. Pete Henderson makes a rare appearance as a foil and catarrhist of note. I can’t wait!
