What: High school students, come to our free Learn to Row Day in Gloucester Harbor
Where: 23 Harbor Loop, Gloucester
When: Saturday, May 19 10:30am
Who: Students aged 14-18
Gloucester Gig Rowers is kicking off its summer high school rowing program, starting with a free learn-to-row session in one of our gig boats. It’s for people ages 14-18.
Bring a life jacket if you have one, and a parent or guardian to sign a waiver form if you’re under 18.

Dear Joey,

My name is Guy Fiero. You may remember me from an interview I gave a few years ago regarding SailGHS. I have new project that I would like to share with you and would be interested in interviewing if possible.
Attached is a flyer: the project is Cape Ann Community Boating and we will be holding a public meeting Tuesday, May 29th, at 6:00 PM in the Sawyer Free Library’s Friend Room. I met with the Mayor last week and I will be pursuing a capital campaign this year with the hope of opening next spring.

With the help of prior owner Will Bard we were driven by the strong sense of place and purpose to create a Café built for those seeking to continue that warm, musical Café vibe.
During the day, we are a coffee house Café that focuses on espresso-based drinks while proudly serving an array of fresh made, pastries, muffins, scones and croissants along with fresh seasonal salads and sandwiches. At night, we transform into a bar where people feel “at home”, dishing out an array of bar bites and stirring up both classic and contemporary elixirs for every taste and price point. May is Older America’s Month!

Yesterday Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken, Paula Curley and Lauren Gailites of Senior Care “Meals on Wheels had the pleasure of visiting eight seniors, all over ninety living in their own homes. We delivered a hot meal, flowers and a citation for each of the eight seniors. They delivered lots of smiles and stories, inspiring each of us to never forget our seniors.

As a results of life-extending advances in medicine, close knit families and concerned community agencies like Senior Care and it’s staff and volunteers seniors are living longer and more independently in their own homes rather than long term care facilities.

Don’t forget to honor and love your own seniors this month and every month, they have lots to give you in return.
