Special Guest: TONY FRONTIERO!

Guitarist/singer/songwriter Tony Frontiero has led and played
in many local cover and original bands through the 80s and
90s (Easy Street, Grapevine Road). In recent years, however,
we find him focusing on his songwriting and solo career. No
stranger to the Rhumb Line, Tony had a regular Sunday night
solo spot here back in the 90’s. His songs have a pop sensibility
with a touch of blues, R&B, folk and jazz. ~ Fly

The blast radius this week includes the Spitfire of the Blooz, Ms Danielle Miraglia. Miss M doesn’t get up here often enough to suit me, so get it while you can. She’s a great singer/ front person , and you’re gonna love her.

She’s bringing along Ouija Board Certified, Mr. Bob Enik, usually the catarrhist in Mari Martin’s Band, and the redoubtable Mr. Edd Scheer, everybody’s favorite drummer.

A rare treat, to say the least. David Brown and J.B. Amero

other. I’m sure it’ll be a great and special night. Come early! ~ Fly

OK, girls, this is it. You’ve been tearing at my clothes amid great wailing and gnashing of tooth ,begging me to bring him back, so , here he is: Mr. Dennis Brennan. Truly a national treasure, undiscovered and under-appreciated, this cat writes some great toons, can sing his ass off, plays a mean harmonica and has a great hat collection, to boot. I mean this! Hopefully I’ll get him to sneak in some of his self-penned doozies between the really cool blues he’s known for.

The commodious Steve Sadler, everybody’s favorite musical paint box, provides smooth backup on guitar, as does Mr. Chris Rivelli, former Broomful ‘o Blooze drummambulist and sneezeguard. I’ve been practicing all week!

Special Guest: JON BUTCHER!

His music is more than soulful voice and slick guitar. It’s
more than an evening’s entertainment – tho entertained you
most certainly shall be. Each song tells a moving story that
draws from the roots and depths of American history. From
the human spirit. From the heart. The legendary, Grammy-
nominated Jon Butcher is among us. Enough said. ~ Fly

It’s right down the road. Geographically, you could argue it’s the beginning of Cape Ann (see map) AND you can get there on a CATA bus… Beverly’s arts scene is about to get its first performance/event venue with flexible table seating from cabaret-style, to theatre-style to elegant dinner parties, called 9 Wallis. Plus it’s a new venue for Gloucester artists to perform in — yes, Gloucester artists do cross the bridge from time-to-time.
We first told you about it in this post. Here’s an update:
On Jan 12, the City of Beverly approved our liquor license and we’ve tentatively scheduled our Grand Opening Gala for Saturday, April 1.
Now you’ve got 4 days to help us get it open by pledging to our Kickstarter Campaign — and in return reap some wicked cool rewards like an invitation to our Grand Opening Gala!
psssst … all the cool kids will be there ….
Our continuing series at the Rhumb Line continues this Thursday with the arrival of Mr. Brad Faucher. In the old days, Brad was an irregular upon these shores, but has since left the North Shore for greener oceans, i.e. getting his own Thursday gig, but I’ve managed to bribe him to come back and continue where he’s left off. An amazing blues scholar, Mr. B. will tantalize you with his meaty interpretations of R&B classics and sordid blooze.

He’s bringing along his old goombahs, Mr. John Cameron, on keys, and former Broomful o’ Blooz drummmbler, Mr. Chris Rivelli.

Special Guest: JEFF FRASER!

Local hero Jeff Fraser takes the reins this week. Known as
a “one man band”, Jeff has been honing his solo skills on
literally thousands of shows in the greater Boston region
over recent years. He’s a beloved son of my home town of
Essex, folks… I burst with pride. ~ Fly
