Starting February 1st, we will be granting all customers age 60+ to a 10% discount. However in order to be granted discount, all recipients would need a method of verification for their age.

Lunch at Grillfriends

On Sunday before the big games, Rick and I went to Grillfriends for lunch.  Lucky to have a great restaurant that we can have a great lunch.

Rick had the Mindy chicken sandwich and I had hot and cold veggie rollup.  So good and also served with Fresh Friend chips.

We wanted to take a moment to inform you that Magnolia 525 Tavern will be temporarily closed from January 2nd, 2024, through January 8th, 2024. But don’t worry, we’ll be back and better than ever on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024!
During this brief hiatus, we are taking the time to recharge, refresh, and reflect with our beloved family and friends. We believe that this break will enable us to come back stronger and more dedicated to providing you with the exceptional dining experience you’ve come to expect.
Our team will be hard at work behind the scenes, performing extensive deep cleaning, and giving our restaurant the TLC and maintenance it deserves. We’re committed to ensuring that 2024 starts with open arms, warm hospitality, and, of course, delicious food in our cozy atmosphere.

We have a lot going on this November! We will be having a food drive for the Open Door ahead of Thanksgiving as well as new menu items! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to make sure you don’t miss out on any news or promos in real time! Here are some of the highlights to look out for!

Happy Humpback Food Drive

With Thanksgiving and winter holidays on the horizon, we’re going to hold a food drive to support the mission of The Open Door, the area’s leading hunger-relief organization.
Our food collection site will benefit people right here in our community.
Last year, The Open Door distributed 1.78 MILLION pounds of food—that’s
1.48 MILLION meals—to 8,486 people.

We are looking to raise 200 lbs of food this drive. To help us reach our goal, we are also having a competition amongst our Happy Humpback team to see who can raise the most food! But to make sure we reach our goal and help out as many people as possible, we are asking for your help donating food.

The Open Door’s most-needed items are canned chicken and tuna, peanut butter, healthy snacks, 100% juice/juice boxes, breakfast cereal, hearty soups, and canned fruits and veggies. They are requesting no glass containers or packaging for these items.

The Open Door serves people in Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, Ipswich, Topsfield, Rowley, Boxford, Hamilton and Wenham, with mobile sites in Danvers in Lynn. Thousands of local people rely on their programs to help make ends meet. This holiday season, you can help The Open Door serve our neighbors by dropping off a bag of food into our collection bin at our cafe. You can drop off food any time during our normal business hours, 6am through 2pm, Wednesday through Sunday from November 1st though November 20th.

Wonderful Saturday at Marshalls Farmstand

Marshalls Farmstand had a fun event called Puppies and Pumpkins on Saturday, October 21, 2023.  Very grateful to be able to participate in this event.  The puppies were adorable, their fruits and veggies and food are great.

Marshalls Farmstand is having a fun event on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10 – 2.  When shopping for great veggies, fruit and food, visiting the alpacas, please come over to say hello.  Thank you.

We are delighted to announce the upcoming launch of GRILLFRIENDS, a new dining establishment located within MAGNOLIA, set to open in early November with an official date to be revealed shortly.
GRILLFRIENDS is the brainchild of THREE women who share a collective 60 years of experience in the food industry. Driven by a shared love and passion for hospitality, we aim to provide a welcoming place where guests can feel at home and a part of the family. A cozy atmosphere that fosters community and connection.
Our breakfast, lunch and dinner menu has been carefully curated to feature a selection of classic dishes, comfort food, mouthwatering desserts, and gluten free alternatives. From fluffy pancakes and savory burgers paired with milkshakes, to heartwarming chicken pot pies, there will be something for everyone to enjoy at GRILLFRIENDS.
We are eager to have the opportunity to serve you on a regular basis five days a week. Our services include dine-in, takeout, and delivery options to cater to your preferences.

We want to remind all that this is the Magnolia Community Farmers’ Market final Market for the 2023 season.  We want to thank all the wonderful customers who come out every Sunday to shop especially last Sunday with the unpredictable weather.      On Sunday, October 1, 2023, the sun should be shining.

The Happy Humpback is reopening, so glad to have them back

We’re Reopening!
Hello there! Aaron has spent the last five weeks recovering from a rare and deadly form of bacterial meningitis. He continues to deal with some of the effects of his severe brain and blood infection, but has come a very long way, so we will be reopening this Saturday, August 5th!

In order to allow Aaron more opportunities to continue his recovery, we will now be open Wednesday through Sunday. As a result, our double points will now be offered on Wednesdays since we will be closed on Tuesdays. If you haven’t already, you can sign up for our loyalty program here.

The Happy Humpback is a great local cafe

Hi, my name is Dan and my amazing older brother has been recently hospitalized with meningitis, as well as a blood infection, leaving him unable to work while he fights to get well. This leaves my brother and his family in a difficult situation as their cafe, The Happy Humpback, is their main source of income. As a neighborhood spot that recently celebrated its one year anniversary, we are worried that this loss of income will result in a forced permanent closure of the restaurant. We would hate for that to happen. Please, consider donating to help keep my brother’s family and the Happy Humpback on solid ground. Rick and I walked to the Happy Humpback for lunch. Rick had the awesome Happy Burger, and I had a delicious salad. There is outdoor sitting which was so nice on Sunday.
