I just love breakfast at Sailor Stan’s. Another place that makes Gloucester so much better a place than generic communities anywhere else.

I messed up because I wanted to ask what kind of coffee they serve. It’s delicious. I also messed up because I was going to take a picture of my Eggs Oscar (crabmeat, asparagus and egg with hollandaise) but it looked so good I dug right in and forgot to take the picture. Duh!

More Womens Tops and Handbags, originally uploaded by captjoe06.
I’m just going to reiterate for the dads of sons or daughters out there that haven’t bought a Mothers Day gift yet.
Locally First Impressions Mens and Womens Apparel in the West End of Main Street has some beautiful clothing and handbags for that special mother in your life and the prices are very very reasonable.
Another “go to” womens gift place is The Village Silversmith with locations in Gloucester and Rockport. They make hand crafted silver jewelry. It’s another place I’ve had success without having to head up the line.
Order up some fantastic canolis from Cafe Sicilia a couple doors down from First Impressions and pop in on your mother for coffee bearing gifts.

I couldn’t help myself. I had to go in for a repeat of my gaguzza dish at Passports.
It was that good.

Gaguzza at Passports, originally uploaded by captjoe06.
I’m proud to say that Eric at Passports put my recipe for Gaguzza on the menu yesterday.
What is gauguzza you ask?
It’s zuccini. The preparation for this dish is thinly sliced zuccini breaded and fried with the Italian breadcrumbs (mudiga) then layered with fresh mozzarella sitting on top of the zugu so the fried gaguzza doesn’t get all soggy.
Delicious! Go see Eric and ask for the Gaguzza!
