Sharron and her husband David spend a lot of time as volunteer caretakers on Thacher Island , living out there for a week at a time, and always on the watch for terrific photo ops. This is yet another. You may know Sharron as the (former) Bookmobile librarian and driver, and David as the putative bluefish king of Folly Cove. Smith Cove and My Little Friend From Rick Isaacs

Tonight, while taking this picture of Smith Cove (in the mist which was too-rapidly clearing), I felt something furry brush against my leg. I bent down to pet it, cooing "Nice Kitty!" – only to see a big, fluffy, beautiful skunk scamper away into the darkness!

Joey C confession- While I admire the spunk of the Sea Shanty crazies they drive me up a wall when they fire up in the middle of a bar and all thoughts of holding a conversation are out the window.  I’m also fairly certain that when the boys were out fishing the Grand Banks they weren’t strumming any ukuleles.

Enjoying the local book stores today, we found that Toad Hall was hosting the Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team.  Our daughter from Chicago is visiting us (yippee!) and here she is with the nice ladies and their snakes.   Very informative and fun!
