Around the docks

Another image from my “fog collection” over the last few days.  Love the blue of this little dory!   Happy Friday to all!

Eastern Point glimpses

A little Fog and rain make for some pretty glimpses around Eastern Point Blvd.   A single tree in the fog caught my eye while driving through as well as some Loosestrife (I think that is what it’s called!) on the side of the road…like rippling waves of purple.   I’m enjoying this little break from the heat and humidity!  blm_8652-3031-edit-edit-edit

Looming Oliver Hazard Perry

Before I headed out of town Sunday for a few days I thought I’d get up for sunrise and see if I could catch the Oliver Hazard Perry in the early morning light.   It took me a while to even make out the shadow of the ship looming in the dense fog, but I did get a few clicks in between fog banks before I had to hit the road.

Pretty in pink

Our Fisherman’s Wives Statue is glowing and so pretty in pink thanks to Generous Gardners who keep her looking so beautiful!   Since I was stuck at the bridge I thought I’d pull over and enjoy the view!

Joey, Eloise & Maddie throwing it down!

Last night the boss and his beautiful girls matched up with Peter Zappa and his sons from the Causeway in a BBQ Throwdown at the Bluefin Blowout helping to raise money for Alzheimers research.   Both using two of Joey’s prized Weber Performers they fired up the grills and got to cooking!   It was clear that Eloise and Maddie have the family cooking gene as they took control and banged out some awesome bacon wrapped tuna with avocado and cracked pepper, and a delicious Kobe beef burger with siracha mayo.  Peter and his boys put out a flavorful marinated grilled tuna and a Kobe beef burger with grilled onions that was a judges favorite.   All in all the judges deemed it a tie….ultimately The Alzheimer’s Foundation was the winner!!

Views from the Paint Factory

A few views from the Paint Factory over the weekend while we enjoyed visiting “There’s More to Sea” Art show which, by the way, was a great turnout and hopefully an annual event.  A big thanks to Melissa Cox and Jessica Biker Organizers!

Beyond Beauport Book Launch

It was standing room only as James Masciarelli launched his Novel and book signing, “Beyond Beauport” at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center last night.

Shannon Clarke raised a family and worked waterfront jobs in America’s oldest seaport. Her childhood dream to become a sea captain is revived when her long-lost seafaring uncle Patrick visits with a salty tale of their maritime family ancestry of pirates and privateers. He shares recovered family letters and artifacts from the Golden Age of Piracy. They take to the sea in Patrick’s brigantine to follow the siren song of their ancestors in quest of destiny, truth and treasure. The voyage is fraught with raw forces of nature, past traumas and present day sea robbers, as their talents and beliefs of family, identity and purpose are shaken to the core.

June sunsets

I’ve always found June and September to be the best months for sunrises and sunsets, and so far this June has not disappointed!   I stopped at the Bridge to grab the tail end of this one Wednesday night.   How lucky are we!img_9639
