WhereZat? With another PRIZE!

Thanks for playing. A t-shirt for the winner!

WhereZat? Winner!

Micah Dean identified the common thread of the photos from yesterday’s contest as scenes from along Washington St. On Sunday I took pictures starting at the corner by the Blackburn and continued to the Rockport town line. It took a few hours, and I saw more than I had ever noticed in the past. Very cool!

Spearze identified the scenes in his response:  “the first..blessed mother is at my former Aunt Vinnce house on Washington st across from Blackburn…second is Sclafani bakery. next is Ed mini mart. scroo kitchen, riverdale mills, bay view cemetry, plum cove….all in washington st.” Thanks, Eric!

And Congratulations, Micah!! You can pick up your t-shirt at Joey’s.

Here’s a slideshow of all the shots from my Washington St. trek- And yes, I know- the last few photos were taken in Folly Cove!

WhereZat? Win a PRIZE!

This week’s WhereZat? is a little different. Find what these photo locations all have in common!

Good luck!! And you’ll get a your choice of a GLOSTA-phobic or a GMG t-shirt if you’re the first to figure out the answer!

Is this a SCAM?

I put an item on Craig List with a photo a couple of days ago and got this email after his initial inquiry-

“Thanks for the prompt response, I am quite satisfied with the condition .I am also interested and I will like to make an instant purchase, so kindly end the advert on Craigslist, I do not mind adding an extra $25 for you to close the advert on craigslist so that I can be rest assured that I am the prospective buyer, I would have loved to come take a look but I am a very busy man I am very sure you understand. I will also want you to know that I will be paying via Certified Check, and it will be sent to you via courier service due to the distance. You don’t need to bother about the shipment, as that has been taken care of…… So I will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check.

1. Full Name on the check
2. Address where payment will be sent to not p.o.box (because my courier service does not deliver to p.o box)
3. City
4. State
5. Zip Code
6. Phone Number

Once again, I will like to remind you that you will not be responsible for shipping as I will have my mover come over as soon as you have cashed the check .

Have a nice day.”

Think it’s a scam of some sort? Or just some old eccentric?

Going to the Fair?

If you’re heading out to the Topsfield Fair this week, be sure check out my photography the Coolidge Building. I have 2 hanging pieces in the main hall and several smaller photos and note cards in the bin room. Many of the images have been seen on GMG, so here’s your chance to see the real thing, and maybe take one home!

This one, “Niles Pond Rd.”, is hanging in the main hall.

Thanks for your support!   —–Sharon

Could you be more specific with your description? You might be right, but I need more info. Thanks!

      • It is a close up of the wall of the house, when you stand at Cressey’s Beach and look to your right. John thought the wall was a dam. It is the first house on Western Avenue on the water side. Does that help!

WhereZat? With a PRIZE!!

This may be a tough one., but someone will get it. Later today I’ll post a bit more of the photo if necessary. Have fun on this rainy Monday! You might win a GMG t-shirt!!

My quest for today….

Now that I have finished the 2011 calendar 🙂 and it’s ready to print, I’m thinking maybe a Cape Ann lighthouse calendar would be cool. So today I’m doing research. Any less obvious ones that I might miss?

Thanks!  —-Sharon
