Thatcher Island on a foggy day

Even on a foggy and soggy day, always carry my camera.  Took a walk on good Harbor Beach and Thatcher Island looked mysterious.

A late sunset

On Friday, the sunset group walked Shore Road with lots of clouds.  Could not see the planets, but all of a sudden, the sun made a glorious appearance.

As the sun was trying to come out on Thursday

Took a walk on Good Harbor Beach late afternoon on Thursday.  The weather was starting to improve.

Planets align

Planet parade 2025: what to know about catching the 7 planets align

The phenomenon known as a planetary parade is back as astronomers and stargazers prepare for what could be a dazzling display in the solar system this week.

The planetary parade — what appears to be a straight-line formation of several planets in the night sky — is expected to grace our night skies on Friday, Feb. 28.

While it won’t be easy to see the full lineup without binoculars or a telescope, it’s still possible to spot four or even five planets with the naked eye overhead in what NASA calls an “uncommon opportunity.”

A rare celestial event will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025, when seven planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will align in the evening sky.

The sunset club will be out to hopefully see them.

Not great sun sets this week.

Even when it is cloudy at sunset, the walk on Shore Road is always a must.  The sunset on Tuesday was silvery.

Quiet and serene

Coolidge Reservation across from the Magnolia Landing is a Trustees Property.  You can take a great walk around Clark Pond, up to Ocean Lawn and also to Magnolia Beach.

Beautiful Appleton Farms

On Saturday afternoon we went over to Appleton Farms for Maple Sugar Days.  You can see the trails of Cross-Country skiers and the boiling of the maple syrup.  It takes 40 galloons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup.  This maple syrup is pure.  No additives.    The weather was sunny and calm.

Cold Magnolia Sunset

The Magnolia Pier design is a clean and sharp.  To take a photo the other night, got out of my truck, and immediately felt the wind pushing me to the ground.  Had to hold on to the truck door handle.  It can be fun.

Lonely Good Harbor Beach

Good Harbor looked so lonely on Wednesday, with cold weather.  We know withing a few months happy beach goers will be enjoying the ocean, sun and sea breezes.

Incredible Sunset on Wednesday

Finally, with no wind and mild weather, we were able to walk Shore Road.  The sunset was amazing with colorful clouds.

Cold and windy beautiful Stacy Boulevard

With the wind and cold weather lately, it has been difficult to walk outside.  On Tuesday tried to walk the boulevard but was uncomfortable with some icy patches and the wind.

This bench on the boulevard looked lonely.

End of the pier

When walking at sunset, we all have to walk to the of the pier and touch the end.  Whatever helps you get through the day.
