My View of Life on the Dock
The seagull looks like it is looking for some good food on a Memorial Day weekend.

Rick and I decided to redo our dated kitchen. As most of you know I really like buying and shopping local.
Great experience with local vendors. First we needed a General Contractor and we hired Kettle Cove Builders. John Gero owns the company and was awesome.
Next we went to went to Grand Banks and their interior designers did a terrific job with a great design and the quality was top notch.
Glover Flooring was another local Gem. They were were efficient and everything came in on time.
Having a excellent General Contractor helps get the Marble contractor, the plumber and any extra contractors you need. The Marble from Athena Marble and Granite was terrific and we love it.
F.W. Webb was the best place to to find the deep sink that we needed and the plumber put everything together.
Rick and I are so pleased with the the finished product.
The project started on April 27, 2021 and finished on May 28, 2021. This included demo and installation.
My advise is to always use local and get a great general contract.
Here is a before photo and some after.

Magnolia art gallery returns with much local art
Arts Abound, a Magnolia gallery and gift boutique, is celebrating a grand re-opening with new handcrafted items and original artwork. Store owner Sue Wheeler is an artist who paints colorful cold wax and oil, and acrylic sea, floral, and abstract pieces. The featured artist is Eve Perkins, who creates whimsical beach and maritime illustrations of Gloucester and Manchester. The gallery features photographer Donna Ardizzoni’s popular beach towels in a choice of local scenes as well as works by local photographers Laurinda Butcher, John Abisamra and Melissa Cox and others.
Also featured is Gloucester’s Stephanie Mason, who is known for her fish mugs, ornaments, and place mats, and Tin Can Sally (Seamans) who makes earrings using tin cans from all over the world. Rocky Neck’s Brenda Malloy features her hand-painted magnets and cards. Other Cape Ann artists are Gloucester’s Sue Ingram with local paintings of florals and seagulls, Rockport’s Deb Schradieck who paints watercolors of Rockport and Gloucester, and Manchester’s Christine Gauthier Kelley who creates hand-painted silk scarves and shawls. The shop features many other handmade items including ocean-inspired pottery, “Glosta” and Magnolia caps and tees, handblown glass and jewelry.
“Thank you for supporting neighboring artists and small businesses challenged by the pandemic,” said Wheeler. She also noted that the Magnolia’s farmers market will start the first Sunday in June on Lexington Avenue. Arts Abound is located at 21C Lexington Ave., in Magnolia village. Hi Peeps,
As most of you know I had open heart surgery last Thursday, I will not be able to help out with One Hour at a Time Gang. If you need yellow bags you can call Rose at the DPW and she will make sure you have yellow bags. If you have a spot that needs clean up you can let me know and I will post.
Thank you all for your kindness and prayers..
Hugs
Donna
Thank you so much to the GMG family for all you prayers and kindness through my surgery and ongoing recovery. Things are going well considering what a week ago today was like. So appreciate the support and felt all the good wishes and prayers.
So lucky to live in this community and will be forever grateful. The food, gifts, cards and treasures have made this recovery so much easier.
Again I thank you and much love to you all.

On a beautiful Tuesday afternoon walking the beach.

The ocean near Kettle Island looked like diamonds.
