The Gloucester Stage Company to present the World Premiere of  THINK OF ME TUESDAY

Local playwright Ken Riaf’s newest production centered around perennial candidate for mayor and his quixotic campaign comes directly from Gloucester Stage’s 2019 Sold Out Neverdark

Performances October 1 – October 17 at Gloucester Stage Company’s Theater

Gloucester Stage Company will conclude its successful 2021 season with the world premiere of THINK OF ME TUESDAY by Ken Riaf. Building on the sold-out response to the 2019 NeverDark staged reading; the highly anticipated new production will be directed by the theater’s award-winning Artistic Director Robert Walsh. With performances returning to the Gloucester Stage Company’s theater in Gloucester, Think of Me Tuesday opens on Friday, October 1, and runs through October 17.

Think of Me Tuesday tells the story of Jim “Buddy” Chum, a mayoral candidate who continues to run in election after election in the same tattered tweed suit jacket. He’s the punchline for a running joke about a joker who keeps running…and losing. Buddy is Fishtown, Massachusetts’ forever Mayoral candidate on a quixotic campaign for his shot at the top office – he’s not against progress, he just doesn’t want to be around when it gets here.

Gloucester resident and playwright Ken Riaf returns to Gloucester Stage with his newest play after the hit world premiere of “My Station In Life.” Think of Me Tuesday reunites Riaf with the 2018 Elliot Norton Award-winning “My Station in Life” actor Ken Baltin who returns to Gloucester Stage to play Jim “Buddy” Chum. All under the direction of critically acclaimed actor and director Robert Walsh, the cast is complete with the talented Maureen KeillerJoshua W. ColemanFernando Barbosa, and Ines De La Cruz in this world premiere.

“I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Ken Riaf again on his new play and delighted to have such a great cast and design team!” said Robert Walsh the production’s director and Gloucester Stage’s Artistic Director.

Think of Me Tuesday runs October 1 through October 17. Performances are indoors Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 E Main St., Gloucester, MA. Tickets are now on sale and available at GloucesterStage.com

Please note that all patrons attending the performances must present proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test before entering the venue, and must wear a mask inside the theatre.

“The entire 2021 Season has been about keeping our audiences safe, from moving our productions outdoors all summer to asking everyone to provide proof of vaccinations or negative tests and wearing masks when returning indoors. We’re grateful for a supportive community ready to do what is necessary to keep their neighbors safe while participating in live theater,” shared Managing Director, Christopher Griffith.

Proof of vaccination may include showing either a vaccination card or a photo of the card or a digital vaccine record (through an app such as Bindle at www.joinbindle.com/people). Anyone unable to be vaccinated or to verify their vaccination status for any reason will be required to show proof of a recent negative COVID test before entering.”
