Cooper’s Hawk at Cape Hedge Beach From Jim Bates
Good Afternoon Joey,
Thought you’d like to see what’s landed at the Southern end of South Street here at Cape Hedge Beach in Rockport.
It’s been here a few days, sitting on the roofs of cars, atop sign posts and generally driving the area crows crazy.
It’s a beauty.

Nia Routine: Trio: The Music of George Gershwin
So many standards from the American Songbook were written by George Gershwin. Embraceable You, Our Love is Here to Stay and more. So many contemporary artists are revisiting and recording new versions of the old standards like Willie Nelson, Diana Krall, Linda Ronstadt. Why? Because this music is so timeless. And it’s great to dance to. We will be dancing to new versions of the Gershwin standards. Come join us at the Zoom Stardust Ballroom. Well at least join me in my basement studio and we will have fun dancing to the Tunes of George Gershwin.
Moving to Heal

Sculpting Self: A year-long community art project

This Veteran’s Day, the Cape Ann Museum is proud to announce a year-long community art project inspired by Gloucester-based sculptorWalker Hancock, who served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was pivotal member of the Monuments Men. Inspired by Hancock’s Basketball Player Series,a featured part of the Museum’s collections, every eighth grader on Cape Ann will be given the opportunity to create a small sculpture depicting themselves doing their favorite activity during the 2021-2022 school year.
In addition to learning about Hancock, students will learn how to create their own sculpture out of wire armature and clay. This hands-on activity will create a safe space for students to participate in important discussions about identity, representation, and body image. CAM Educators will visit classrooms throughout the school year, culminating in an exhibition of the student work and the Hancock sculptures…
