Free Streaming Nia, Restorative Yoga and Moving to Heal Classes via Zoom with Linda for the Week of Jan. 31st

Current Nia Routine: Disney Songs

This Disney routine focuses on the hands and feet. The body parts we take the most for granted, until they are painful.

So join us and weโ€™ll have fun singing and dancing to Disney Songs. Hereโ€™s a sneak preview of one of my favorite finds, an a cappella version ofโ€œI Wanna Be Like Youโ€from the Jungle Book sung by DCappella.

Moving to Heal

Moving to Heal Nia is a slower, less intensive class with less standing and more done in the chair. Great for people with injuries or conditions that make it hard to participate in a classic Nia class. Also good for people getting back into exercise. For more info on Moving to Heal, see the info and videos on my web site or click here

Hey Joey!

Getting frosty out here in the Lanesville woods. Footage is from about 11:30, in the area around Vernonโ€™s pit.  Pretty sheltered in the trees with knee deep drifts. Howling wind up on the cliffs above the quarry.

Any idea how Joe made out with Nova Kane? Looked rough.

Hope yโ€™all are staying warm out there.

Cheers!

Our crews will be working but residents can help by clearing out storm drains near their homes so melting snow and rain can make it into our storm water system instead of staying on streets. Even just a shovel-width of space allows the drains to function and prevent street flooding'

Shipwreck story

Hi Joey,

This story was told to my mother, Dorothy Amerige Morgan James, by her grandfather, Albert Morgan of Brier Neck.  I remember the story of the ship coming aground on Good Harbor Beach, although the family first settled in Lanesville.  The story was published in 1962.

City Of Gloucester Snow Emergency

Snow Emergency

In light of the impending storm a parking ban has been declared on all city streets, starting at 12:00AM on January 29th (midnight tonight) and ending at 12:00PM (noon) on Sunday, January 30th.

Parking is available at all municipal and school parking lots with the exception of the Lower Lot at Gloucester High School. Parking is at your own risk.

All residents and businesses are reminded that they are responsible for clearing snow from sidewalks adjacent to their property. Please make every effort to shovel out hydrants at, or near your homes, and please check on the elderly and the disabled.

The latest forecast suggests up to 24โ€ of snow are possible. Your cooperation during this parking ban is necessary for efficient and safe snow removal efforts. Thank you and stay safe.
