Buy Oil Stock Index. That’s my prediction. Mark the tape. It’s 1358.64 Reasoning: tension with Russia. When Russia invades the Ukraine the US will impose economic sanctions and Russia will counter. Watch the price of oil skyrocket. We’ll probably be paying $5 for gas. Best way to hedge that would be the gains you get in the oil and gas index. That’s my call.

Here’s your comparison from that exact date-
The Oil and Gas Index ^XOI vs The Nasdaq

^XOI up 22% while the Nasdaq has an 18% loss. That’s a 40% swing. .

Introduction of digital pass platform will modernize an outdated system for non-resident beachgoers.
Today, Mayor Greg Verga announced the launch of a new online reservation and payment system for non-resident beach parking for the 2022 beach season. The City of Gloucester will utilize Yodel, a parking management platform, to allow non-resident beachgoers to reserve and pay for their parking space at City beaches up to ten days in advance.
This innovative technology will streamline the parking procedure for all visitors to Gloucester’s beaches. Modernizing our systems and creating new efficiencies will address several of the concerns of our residents and improve everyone’s beach-going experience.
“This is a major step towards modernizing and advancing an outdated and inefficient system for both resident and non-resident beachgoers,” said Mayor Greg Verga.
Yodel will serve as a digital pass platform and bring a modern solution to the beach parking management system. Non-resident beach visitors will be able to reserve parking in advance to guarantee a space while reducing traffic and improving service.
This is an improvement from the traditional first-come-first-serve, on-site cash payment that has been the norm for decades at City beaches. Non-resident beach stickers will no longer be available, and reservations are nonrefundable.
“This will improve access for non-residents visitors and ease the delays and traffic that our residents typically face,” said Verga.
There will be no significant changes to the resident beach sticker process, and no reservations will be required for residents.
Residents can learn more about purchasing a beach sticker and the new online application option at the City’s website: https://www.gloucester-ma.gov/654/Beach-Sticker-Application.
For more information about Yodel, please visit: https://www.yodelpass.com/.

Hopefully some of these places reopen but some are lost forever.
Closed Saturday: Last Stop Variety- Sailor Stan’s (normally would be open this time of year)
Gone: Salahs Breakfast Place In East Gloucester Square (god I miss that place), The Variety Store In East Gloucester Square.
Not Open Yet- The Rudder, The Studio
Question marks: Duckworth’s, Madfish
I just wanted to grab a quick coffee to go at Last Stop Variety and a nice home baked muffin, a bag of ice and hop on the boat.
Nope. Sadness. Hopefully Last Stop opens with regularity this summer.

Keep supporting Charlie’s Place and Cape Ann Coffee before we lose them too.
