My name is Dave Janus.
I’ve put together a Scavenger Hunt to benefit Cape Ann Animal Aid at The Cave next Tuesday. There will be a couple of dogs that are available for adoption. The Cave will be offering free Wine (21+) and cheese to hunters.
I was wondering if you would do a post to let the locals know about the event.
The attached brochures and PoleWalkers.com explain the bigger picture of what the Scavenger Hunt is about.

We had to come offload bait early before our lobster boats come in and first thing I do is walk up to the street and put up the “OPEN” sign.
We this skunk was right next to the sign post trying it’s hardest to stick it’s head into a can of pringles (wasn’t happening).
I made some noise and it lifted it’s tail and I moved a little further away, but it wouldn’t move.
Total Mexican standoff with that stubborn skunk.
Finally it left, I put the sign up and we were open for business.
UPDATED MAP – we have made a recent update to our parade route. The judge’s boat, Cape Ann Whale Watch’s Hurricane II, will be located off the Gloucester Coast Guard station and the boats and judges will have 2 times to view each contestant. Be sure you give them a good show when you go by.

Mayor Greg Verga and Harbormaster Thomas Ciarametaro would like to remind community members who use public boat landings in the City of Gloucester of regulations regarding the launches, which are meant to facilitate access for all who need them.
The city’s 10 public boat landings are in high demand during the summer months, as large numbers of boaters seek access to the water of Gloucester Harbor, but recently some users have been found utilizing the landings in unauthorized manners.
Regulations governing public landings in Gloucester say that, without express permission from the Harbormaster, no vessel should be tied to the head of a public landing for more than 30 minutes.
Harbormaster Ciarametaro reports recently finding members of the public setting up grills and using landings for unauthorized purposes, which serves to make the landings more difficult to access for other community members. The boat landings are to be used only for launching and recovering boats.
“Those caught using landings inappropriately can face a $100 fine, but we would vastly prefer to see increased voluntary compliance from members of the community, so that all can enjoy ease of access to the waters of Gloucester Harbor,” said Harbormaster Ciarametaro. “I encourage all boaters to be as considerate as possible, and to review and adhere to the regulations regarding usage of our boat landings.”

A 12-month Cape Ann photo raffle calendar that will be sold through the Gloucester Rotary. A raffle ticket will be attached to each calendar and a winning number will be chosen each week in 2023. All profits from the calendar sales will go to the Gloucester Rotary’s efforts to raise money to support the many community and international activities in which the group is involved.
In 2023, Gloucester is celebrating its 400th birthday, and the Gloucester Rotary wants to celebrate this with its calendar. Please, submit photos that reflect the best of Gloucester.
