Stop by the Sawyer Free Library at 21 Main Street between 2 and 4 pm on Saturday, February 17 to make your own zine! We will provide all the supplies for you to finish something that you’ve been working on, or start something new.

Zines (pronounced “zeen” like “bean”) are self-published magazines with limited print runs. They typically provide an alternative point of view and provide a platform for underrepresented voices. We believe they belong in the library.  No registration required. All ages welcome!

In honor of Black History Month, Wellspring is hosting a FREE Open House featuring its History Lives Here exhibit on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM  – 12:00 PM. 

Wellspring invites the public to come visit the historic Davis-Freeman House in West Gloucester and experience its HISTORY LIVES HERE exhibit. Docent-led tours of the exhibit and activities will engage and inform attendees of all ages on an important piece of Gloucester’s history. Learn about the fascinating story of the Freemans, a prominent Black American family who for more than 100 years owned and lived in the home where Wellspring is headquartered today. 

Tours run every 15 minutes and are limited to 10 guests per tour.

ROCKY NECK NOW 2024, the highly anticipated annual members show, once again opens the exhibition season at the Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC). This year, works by 79 artist members will be on display, giving a broad overview of RNAC members’ talents and passion. Rocky Neck Now is open to all members and offers each the opportunity to show one recent work. The exhibition showcases a wide range of artistic vision, with representational, abstract and expressive styles in all media.
