“M/N Contemporary Art” is a new contemporary gallery in downtown Gloucester kicking off Spring with its latest show Ostara!” Ostara is an exhibition celebrating spring and the gallery is bursting with bright floral color and earthy undertones. Featured artists include gallery co-owners Vanessa Michalak and Rebecca Nagle as well as work by visiting artists Loren Doucette, Jennifer Brown and Sasha Parfenova. This Saturday, June 1st, we are excited to have Loren drawing live at the gallery. The art show runs through June 23rd. M/N Contemporary Art is located at 20 Pleasant St, Gloucester MA.

Join us Friday, May 31st to kickoff Cape Ann’s Pride Weekend with Sunset Sessions: Pride Edition at Beauport Hotel’s Birdseye Rooftop!

Featuring live DJ entertainment from 617 Events, dance along to your favorite beats, sip on handcrafted cocktails and take in the sweeping views of the Gloucester Harbor. Make sure to bring your suit if you want to take a dip in the pool or hot tub! This event is for 21+ adults only.

This event is in collaboration with Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce and the Cape Ann Pride Coalition. A portion of the ticket sales from this event will benefit the Cape Ann Pride Coalition – a grassroots organization of diverse people dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and creating community among the LGBTQIA+ residents and workers on Cape Ann, MA, and our Allies.

Sea Scouts Ship 5 crew and adult volunteers from Gloucester MA belonging to BSA Spirit of Adventure Council, chartered by Gloucester Elks Lodge 892, and Boy Scout Pack 33 belonging to BSA Heart of New England council, chartered by the Westminster VFW joined Gloucester Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 4-6 for the annual Ten Pound Island wreath ceremony. 

The wreath ceremony, organized by IPFC John Keyes, included a brief history of Ten Pound Island Coast Guard Aviation station along with an original reading from VFC Floyd Grace, presented by Sea Scout Ship 5 crew. 

The memorial and wreath ceremony located on Stacy Blvd, Gloucester MA, ‘Honors the men who established Coast Guard Aviation in May of 1925 on Ten Pound Island in Gloucester Harbor.  Home of the first continuously operating Coast Guard Air Station.  Growth in operations and aircraft size, forced a move to Salem Massachusetts in 1935, and again to Cape Cod in 1970.’

2025 will mark the 100^th anniversary of Ten Pound Island Air Station.  

BSA Sea Scout Ship 5 and Pack 33 were honored to participate in the wreath ceremony and presentation with Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 4-6 on Saturday May 25, 2024.
