Directed by Jess Emerson, the production explores the complex dimensions of Richard’s character. The deformed youngest brother of the newly crowned King Edward, Richard vows to his audience to “prove himself a villain.” Armed with unparalleled skills of persuasion and deceit, he murders and manipulates his way to the English throne. A strangely lovable villain, Richard easily wins his audience over, leaving them to question who they are truly rooting for. However, a kingdom built on lies and ruthless ambition is destined to crumble. Richard entrances the audience with his wit, cunning manipulation of language, and vicious determination—qualities that once won his audience, ultimately lead to his rapid downfall.

“Gloucester became an artistic challenge – all coastal days have a certain amount of ‘fog’ to them…I am always aware of the atmospheric shifts in sea air.” – Emile Gruppe (1896-1978)
“I became energized and revitalized…capturing the soft prismatic glow of air – atmospheric perspective.” – John Twachtman (1853-1902)
“I became a Folly Cove artist…capturing atmosphere and light – where people live and work and play.” – Leon Kroll (1884-1974)
Additionally, Theresa Bernstein (1890-2002), William Meyerowitz (1887-1981), Hayley Lever (1876-1958), and Gordon Grant (1875-1962) experienced powerful shifts in air, light and color captured by their ambitious experimentation while working on Cape Ann. Come experience our carefully curated display of masters showcasing their journey – while breathing rarefied air.

GLOUCESTER, MA – The Gloucester Council on Aging’s Rose Baker Senior Center is announcing a new name and brand identity, marking an important step forward in its ongoing commitment to meeting the evolving needs of older adults in the community.
Following a membership-wide voting event held on March 11, the Center’s new name and tagline were officially selected: Rose Baker Center for Aging Well, with the tagline “Where community comes together.” The process invited participants to help shape the future of the Center, reflecting that it is, at its heart, their space and their voice.
Supported by a grant from the Massachusetts Council on Aging, this rebranding was informed by diverse community input. The new name reflects a broader, more inclusive vision of aging, one that emphasizes wellness, connection, engagement, and a strong sense of belonging.
“This new chapter for the Rose Baker Center for Aging Well reflects Gloucester’s deep commitment to honoring and supporting our residents,” said Mayor Paul Lundberg. “By centering community voices throughout this process, we are helping to create a space that is welcoming, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of all who call Gloucester home.”
As part of this transformation, the Center will undergo several improvements in the coming months, including updates to the front desk, reception area, and lobby, new exterior signage, a refreshed mission statement, and the development of a new website, which will all be designed to better reflect the Center’s identity and enhance the experience for participants.
“This process has been rooted in listening to our community,” said Director of Elder Services, Elise Sinagra. “What we heard was a desire for connection, visibility, and a space where people feel welcomed and valued. The Rose Baker Center for Aging Well reflects that vision, and we’re excited to continue growing together.”
The Rose Baker Center for Aging Well remains dedicated to providing high-quality programs, services, and opportunities that support older adults in living active, engaged, and meaningful lives in Gloucester.
— Mayor Paul Lundberg City of Gloucester

Huge progress since we first checked in on Barbara Koen’s Dress Code Downtown Tomato Garden. I frankly don’t know what she’s gonna do with all the tomatoes that are growing in her little patch. There must be at least triple the amount of tiny green tomatoes gowning now than there were a couple of weeks ago. I also spotted what looked to be some basil growing.
