Yo- There’s Goats at First Parish Burial Ground and Clark Cemetery Through Today- Check ‘Em Out!
Crystal Daley forwards-
We want to let everyone know that at First Parish Burial Ground and Clark Cemetery the goats are back. They are munching happily at the vegetation and will be here until next Tuesday. People are free to visit them as they love having company just please remember they have plenty of food already so don’t feed them and they are behind an electric fence for their protection.
We will be hosting a work party this Sunday June 14th starting at 11. So come by and help out and get distracted by the goats. Wear appropriate clothing for outside work.
We look forward to seeing everyone.

I’m STOKed about Grilling On My @stokgrills Drum
Completely obsessed with getting to the BBQ after work and unwinding while creating something delicious.
See the cast iron grates on the STOK Drum grill? I don’t know how any grilling enthusiast would ever go back to aluminum metal grates after using cast iron. The beauty of it is that these grates came standard on a grill that already cost less than a similarly equipped Weber.
I take pride on how I’ve been caring for them too. Clean before and after every session and then I keep a mason jar filled with peanut oil right next to my baby and slather on the peanut oil after the cleaning while the grates are still hot. It’s made them into a beautifully seasoned cooking surface which makes killer hash marks and has a great degree of anti-stick properties just like your favorite well seasoned cast iron pan.
Have I told you yet about how obsessed I am with my new Charcoal grill? Because if I haven’t, let me tell you I could go on and on.
Can’t wait for our first annual GMG BBQ Throwdown at Stage Fort Park!

May 12, 2015 marks 4 years since my surgery and subsequent diagnosis with a grade IV brain tumor (Glioblastoma Multiforme). Thanks to my doctors and clinical care nurses in the Neuro-Oncology group at MGH, my beautiful wife and best friend Bonnie and three sons Jake, Liam and Ethan, I have outlived the average prognosis of six to fourteen months. I’ll join my family (Family Ties) this year to once again walk the Cape Ann Relay for Life. I feel very passionate about trying to give back since I feel like I have been blessed with the life I’ve been re-given and would be remiss if I didn’t try to give back to others fighting this battle. Our family walks to support those that are suffering in so many ways with a cancer diagnosis. We walk to honor the people that have come before us that have contributed their time, money and emotional effort to battle cancer so that those that followed them, like me, have more hope. We walk to help stay positive and treat not just the symptoms but the spirit of those dealing with cancer. I know each of us face trials in our lives, but the lesson I’ve learned is that it is not what happens to you (since we all face adversity in our lives), but how we choose to deal with our challenges and live our lives that will define us. So we support each other, we walk and we believe that we will see the day when will win this battle again cancer that creates so much fear and suffering. With progress on the horizon, we continue to work together to raise awareness and money to fund research and to support families dealing with a cancer diagnosis. These strides forward are made possible with fundraising efforts, such as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
See you all on the 20th of June

I added 4 tablespoons of salted butter to the zest and juice of one medium lemon for the lemon butter which I’d add to the grilled asparagus-

Tossed the asparagus in canola oil some Atlantic Saltworks salt and crushed black pepper before grilling

Lemon Butter

Prepped The Atomic Buffalo Turds As Usual- Slice jalepenos in half scoop out the seeds fill with cream cheese and wrap with bacon. Finish with a liberal sprinkling of cayenne pepper.
Decadent Results
Craig outdid himself with these gorgeous grilled Italian sausages with the peppers and onions. He kept adding beer to the cast iron pan to achieve the perfect coloring.
Although we had access to the Huge Smokin’ Jim’s Smoker, we opted for Eric’s 20 year old Weber with melted off handles. Used Royal Oak Lump Charcoal. (I didn’t hear anyone complaining)
Couple of Ribeyes and corn in the husks
We also had (not pictured) Tobey’s pork cutlets and Eric’s Guacamole.
Last Night’s BBQ Throwdown On The @STOKGrills
#cantstopwontstopgrilling
Started the charcoal in the STOK Drum charcoal grill and would let it get up to 500 degrees with top and bottom vents wide open while we worked to get the food ready.
My two zoochies Madeline and Eloise helped prep the chicken by skewering them and applying canola oil and salt and pepper. We put the skewered chicken aside.
Peeled the carrots and snipped the ends off. Then boiled them for about 7 minutes to soften them up just a little and then ran them under cool water to stop them from cooking any further. (Kate tells me they call this blanching). Then Eloise tosses the carrots to coat in a soy, ginger garlic marinade and we let that sit on the counter to marinate.
Then Madeline cut up the pineapple into half inch slices. We made a glaze of honey, canola oil, nutmeg and cinnamon for the pineapple.
Now that the grill hit 500 degrees I took the charcoal and dispersed it evenly along the bottom of the grill and arrange the carrots in a perpendicular pattern in relation to the cast iron grill grates on the STOK Drum Grill so we can create some pretty hash marks.
Hit the top of the pineapple with the honey/canola oil/nutmeg/cinnamon glaze and cover for about 5 minutes. Then make your first flip-
Now hit the other side of the pineapple with your glaze and mop the carrots with the soy ginger mixture. After another five minutes flip and rotate a quarter of a turn to make em look pretty. They should be softened up by now.
Toss the chicken skewers on the grill now. About three minutes a side. After the first turn, mop em with the Thai peanut sauce.
On the second turn mop everything with their respective glazes.

The Gloucester Harbor Launch Season Pass will be on sale starting June 15, 2015
You wanna talk about a no-brainer? Regularly the launch would cost $20 for 4 people to use one way. So on a normal day when it is used round trip that would cost $40. So all you would have to do is use the season pass 2 and a half times and it would pay for itself and everything after that would be gravy. Plus not having to worry about a dinghy or renting a space for a dinghy and all the hassles of maintaining that tender.
No Brainer City!
From The Office Of The Harbormaster-
