These guys…

Honestly how can I be more thankful to have James and Anna Eves in my life?   These MFers right here just always step up when it comes time to have fun.  Thank you guys for hosting this year’s GMG Holiday Party and thanks for being such great friends.  We’re so blessed to have you in our lives.

PS: When searching for a photos of James and Anna together I came across this photo that Alicia Pensarosa took and couldn’t help but wonder what the whole thing about Anna not wearing shoes is.  Totally intrigued.  Just rolling around the shop barefoot.  Such a power move,  there was no way I wasn’t going to use this picture.

External Temp 36 Degrees

5:10AM Set Up Smoker using minion method. Looking to get a controlled temp around 275.  Using Kingsford Briquettes, Apple Chunks from Russell Orchards in Ipswich MA and Cherry wood chips for smoke.

Lightly slathered ribs with Texas Pete Hot Sauce and used Paul Prudhomme Blackened Rub.

Once pit temps hit 180 degrees closed two out of the three bottom vents and left one wide open.  After climbing to 200 degrees closed bottom vent a third of the way looking to not let the pit get too stoked and fight temps on the high side throughout the smoke.  Aiming for 275 degrees.

SeniorCare Inc.’s Myra Herrick Conference Room was recently the site for an amazing look into the generosity of knitters on the North Shore and Cape Ann.

Throughout 2015, more than 30 volunteer knitters—members of SeniorCare’s Project Warm Friends—created thousands of beautiful hand-made gifts to be given to people in need. Over the coming holiday season, SeniorCare will distribute 2,500 items to hospital patients, veterans, seniors, teens, young children and newborns.

SeniorCare’s Project Warm Friends began in 1997 as Project Warm Child to provide warm knitted and crocheted baby clothing and blankets to needy newborns. In 2004, the program expanded to include larger items for children at Pathways for Children in Gloucester. In 2005 lap robes were added for nursing home residents and the name was changed to Project Warm Friends.

This year’s list of donated items includes

876 infant hats
277 child hats
240 potholders
172 infant sweaters
130 adult hats
111 child sweaters
98 knit afghan blankets
94 child mittens
82 pillows
80 lap blankets
75 scarves
56 fleece baby blankets
55 knit baby blankets
44 pillow cases
41 teddy bears
38 changing pads
27 adult mittens
24 pairs of baby booties
14 quilts
13 infant mittens

Check Out The Wine Trap Made Locally In Gloucester!

image

Many different styles and colors-

http://winetrap.net/

You can buy them at Pisces, Savour Wine and Cheese and The Last Resort On Bearskin Neck!

From the online site-

The Wine Trap was born out of a love for lobstering and drinking

No good story ever started with “I had a glass of orange juice” and this one is no different. We are a crafty family with deep roots in fishing that go back to the early 1900s. We love to build and create together. After a few cocktails one evening, we tried to figure out a way to share our passion for the ocean with the world. After several hours of crimping and bending The Wine Trap was born.

Each trap is handmade by our family and friends using authentic lobster trap materials in a fashion similar to the traps we use for fishing.

Although it can be used to gift wine and other spirits, there are so many other uses for The Wine Trap. It can hold LED candles, potpourri, candy etc. And we think it will outwit most squirrels when used as a bird feeder. Hopefully you will find some new ones as well.

There is no better feeling than sharing, so we hope you enjoy and share The Wine Trap with your friends and family.

From our family to yours!!!! Enjoy!!

Would You Like Me To Build An Android app For You?

I can build you an android app with many different types of features.  I don’t build Apple iOS Apps.  Here are some of the types of features that you can have in your very own app that people can download and use on their phone or android tablet to access your content.

  • About Feature- The About feature is used to display information about yourself, your company and/or your app. You can show information such as your name, title, description, and links to various sites where your users can find out more!
  • Audio Player Feature- The Audio Player Feature allows you to play audio files within the application.
  • Contact Feature- Contact features are designed to make it easy for users of your app to get in touch with you. You can decide what contact details to make available, but for the best results, give your users as many choices as possible. Choose from Phone, Email, Website and Address – each is interactive! Users can also easily add your information to their contacts with a single click.
  • Email Feature- The Email feature is used to initiate an email message using the end user’s chosen email client with a specific email address, and optional subject and text. This allows users to initiate an email with a single click.
  • Facebook Feature- The Facebook feature lets you easily embed a mobile-friendly Facebook page into your app.
  • Map Feature- The Map feature lets you display your locations on an interactive map. Your users can then see your address, nearby locations, and even get directions and navigation to your business.
  • Phone Feature- The Phone feature is used to display the phone dialer (if available) filled in with a specific telephone number. This allows users to contact you with a single click.
  • Photo Gallery Feature- Phone gallery features allow you to include photos in your app.
  • Podcast Feature- The Podcast feature displays an iTunes Podcast RSS 2.0 feed in your app. It supports streaming audio over the network and downloading episodes for playback offline.
  • Twitter Feature- The Twitter feature allows you to display one of three different twitter timelines. You can choose to: display a specific twitter user’s timeline, a timeline from a list, or a timeline based on a search of the most recent public tweets.
  • Website Feature- The Website feature is used to display the contents of a website in your application. It is one of the simplest activities, yet it’s ability to display web content makes it very powerful.

I just updated the Good Morning Gloucester Android App with several new features.  Get the GMG App for free here

Cape Ann Wellness News http://www.capeannwellness.com

Treetop Yoga Studio's avatarCape Ann Wellness

Yoga studios are opening and closing on the North Shore faster than you can say chaturanga! It is amazing to be a part of a community where the demand for yoga is high, yet we recognize it can be confusing navigating the in’s and out’s of what makes each studio different. What sets Treetop apart and makes us unique? We’ve narrowed it down for you to make it easy!

1. Time-tested, community-approved!

Treetop is the oldest yoga studio still open on Cape Ann.  We have been serving this community for over 8 years, and we’re going strong! You can be sure to expect a lot more from us for many years to come.

“I have been to other studios and I think Treetop is by far the best.  It is clean and inviting, the staff is friendly and amazing. AND the clientele is friendly.  I honestly feel like it’s one big family.”
