North Shore Women On Wheels (WOW) is part of National "Women on Wheels" Riding Group. May 7th 2016 Is International Female Ride Day
North Shore Women On Wheels (WOW) is part of National “Women on Wheels” Riding Group.
May 7th 2015 was International Female Ride Day and our One Day Only Photo Contest. All chapters across the Nation were asked to send in a group photo from that day. I felt no place beats the Fisherman At The Wheel, to represent the North Shore. It paid off, we won the contest and as you can see we are on the Women On Wheels cover magazine for March/April 2016!
We have been featured also in Motorcyclists Post Magazine. This picture just shows a small count of our group which is over 60 members. May 7, 2016 is once again International Female Riding Day, come join us for a great day at Seacoast Harley, Hampton NH. All are welcome. Coastal Elite Teams are competing locally tomorrow Sunday, April 17th at Beverly High!
All of the Coastal Elite All-star Cheer teams are competing this Sunday, April 17th in the NSCX Invitational at Beverly High School — we are so excited to be finishing our competition season locally!
Performance times are — Mermaids 9:35am; Stingrays 10:10am; Perfect Storm 11:15am; Riptides 11:45am
Admission is $12 — children under 5 free

North Shore Swim Club is accepting children into their swim team programs at Gordon College
North Shore Swim Club is accepting children into their swim team programs at Gordon College. The Spring session is May 2- June 19, 2016. North Shore is a USA swimming club that offers programs for children ages 5-18. Preteam practices are twice per week for 30 minutes for children who need stroke development. Junior practices are 2-3 practices a week for 60 minutes, while learning the latest techniques of all four competitive strokes and the fundamentals of starts and turns. An age group swimmer is asked to make 3-4 practices per week for 90 minutes as they learn how to increase the proficiency of their starts, turns and of all four strokes, while also giving the swimmer a base for aerobic conditioning. The competitive senior program is for swimmers who are asked to make 5-6 practices a week for 90 minutes, while seeking stroke improvement, aerobic conditioning and the fundamentals of race strategy.
NSSC does not have tryouts, but space is limited. Swimmer evaluations and placements will be during the first week of practice, guaranteeing your children are placed in the appropriate practice level. Gloucester Sweeps Landmark 4/14
Gloucester beat Landmark yesterday in straight races 4 to 0. This is the first official race of the season and we’re off to a great start!
After vacation, SailGHS will return to three races in a row, Monday through Wednesday.

Tuesday, scrimmage vs. Manchester at MSA
Wednesday, race against Beverly at Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly

GLOUCESTER — Chief Eric Smith is pleased to announce that the Gloucester Fire Department, with assistance from doctors at Addison Gilbert Hospital, saved a man’s life who went into cardiac arrest by employing the revolutionary LUCAS 2 Chest Compression System — setting the record for the longest continual usage of the device in Massachusetts and New England.
“This is an extremely unique situation given the duration the LUCAS device was used. Through the miraculous high quality of care, advanced tools and science, this man was able to return home to his family,” Chief Smith said. “Everyone, from the public, to police, fire and doctors, worked as a team to provide the best possible care available. It demonstrates a true commitment to one another, our residents and community as a whole.”

six weeks of organic pressed almond milk being offered in April and May by Mayflour Confections- different flavors- Sea Salt & Honey, Vanilla Bean, Lavender, Pure, Matcha, Cacao
1 quart a week for six weeks-$80
2 quarts a week for six weeks – $150
A few notes:
- We source our honey from Ipswich (Tomten Beeworks) and our sea salt from Atlantic Saltworks in Gloucester.
- The almond milk is completely raw and contains about 30% almonds (store bought almond milk typically contains just 1-2%).
- We press and bottle it on Mondays and it is available for pickup at Mayflour Confections in Rockport on Tuesdays.
- Like the milkman, we take back the glass bottles each week for reuse.
