Got started building my firewood pile with a donation of firewood from my buddy Mike Codair.

Found these plans on Pinterest for a firewood stand that requires no tools to assemble and the comments from people that had built them from the plan were all very positive.

We’ll be at The Cape Ann Cinema and Stage again and I want to reach out to say thank you SO SO much for helping get the word out last time around. Started the coals on the Performer, set up the smoker using the minion method with Apple wood chunks and cherry chips. Dumped 12 lit coals into the center of the charcoal basket and let smoker climb to 200 before closing all three bottom vents 75% shut and leaving the top vent wide open.

Pork Butt hit the smoker around 8:50PM.

The temps will be monitored by the Maverick 733 remote thermometer. At 9:17PM the Grate temp is 261.

Update 4:00AM-

Woke to check temps on the smoker and she was cruising along at 223 grill grate temp. The butt internal temp at 190 degrees.

4:45AM Pork button internal temp is 196 degrees, she will…

DOGTOWN DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!

The Friends of Dogtown announces its third annual Dogtown Days event–in celebration of our iconic landscape in the heart of Cape Ann, beloved by all.

Day 1 of this free two-day public event features fun family activities, exhibits, food and drink, educational presentations, and live theatre and music. Day 1 takes place at the Lanesville Community Center, 8 Vulcan St. in Gloucester, on Saturday, October 1, from 1 to 5 pm.

Friends of Dogtown offers four free guided tours of Dogtown on Day 2, Sunday, October 2, including a Natural History tour with Chris Leahy of Massachusetts Audubon, a Dogtown Commons cellar hole tour with local author Mark Carlotto, an Artists and Writers Tour with artist Shep Abbott, and a Babson Boulder Trail tour.
