Here’s the thing about Bron Bron

I used to just flat out hate LeBron, but after really watching him play I’m not so much of a homer that I can’t admit he’s probably the best that’s ever played.

As the most dominant player in the game there’s just no need for his incessant whining.  It destroys his likability.  Before Bron Bron I would have said Jordan was the best Basketball player ever but there’s huge difference.

You never saw Jordan bitch piss and moan the way Bron Bron does.  He’d be five times the star he is if he just manned up and played instead of acting like such a bitch all the time.  You never saw Jordan flop all the time.  He’s undoubtedly his own worst enemy.

Susan Bell Reed 1943-2017

Hi Joey—

Many folks in Gloucester remember my wife, Susan Bell Reed as an award-winning advertising copy writer, TV producer, independent filmmaker, author, yoga and fitness enthusiast, dog lover and friend to many. She was also one of the biggest fans Gloucester ever had, and proudly showed the town around to her friends visiting from distant places like London, Jerusalem, Buenos Ares, and Hollywood.

After a brief but brutal bout with cancer, she passed away this Monday. We will be observing her passing at 10 Friday morning, rain or whatever, at Mt Jacob Cemetery on Fernald St. in west Gloucester.

To those who can’t make it, please place her in your hearts and help us honor a talented, generous, caring person that Gloucester will miss.

Kyle Danikas from The Alicia Unleashed podcast needs Your Help

image

“Hey guys, I need your help. I have never done anything like this before and I am a little nervous, but I think there are a lot  of good people out there that will help me if I ask.  I am participating in the Walk For Victory on June 11th on Team Zebra for EDS. Over a year ago I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a group of connective tissue disorders.  The type I have, most people suffer from dislocations or partial dislocations of joints, which results in joint pain, muscle pain and nerve pain (all the pains really) among many other nasty symptoms. Any how, it can really be difficult to fake a smile some days when your knee cap wont stay on. You can read “my story” and donate by clicking the link below. This is one of those things where I can end up being pretty proud of something I did and the people who helped me get there.

The walk is put on by The Marfan Foundation. Marfan Syndrome is similar connective tissue disorder. ALL funds raised for Team Zebra will go DIRECTLY towards Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) research.

Why Zebra? People with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) often identify themselves as zebras. Medical students have been taught for decades that, “When you hear hoofbeats behind you, don’t expect to see a zebra.” In other words, look for the more common and usual, not the surprising, diagnosis.”

GAAC/HPSP Star Party Saturday Night, May 27!

Michael Deneen's avatarCape Ann Community

Roger AntaresPhoto Credit: Roger Porter

Weather permitting, Halibut Point State Park and the Gloucester Area Astronomy Club will be hosting a star party Saturday evening, May 27, next to the HPSP Visitor Center. Everyone is invited! Come look through the club’s telescopes at a thin crescent moon, Jupiter and its moons, and an array of distant deep-sky objects like galaxies, nebulae and star clusters. Unless we have overcast skies, GAAC will have telescopes set up from dusk to 10:00 pm for public viewing. Of course there is no cost.

Please park in the paved lot off of Gott Ave and walk the short distance up the hill to the Visitor Center, and please keep white lights to a minimum, so everyone’s eyes get a chance to adapt to the dark.

The Gloucester Area Astronomy Club meets at 8:00 pm on the second Friday of the month at the Lanesville Community Center…
