2017 Massachusetts Retailer of the Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SALEM, MASS., November 16, 2017 – Landry & Arcari Rugs and Carpeting has received the prestigious Massachusetts Retailer of the Year Award from the Retailers Association of Massachusetts.
“’Retailer of the Year’-worthy businesses are those that continuously go above and beyond to provide their customers with an exceptional product, unparalleled service, and that demonstrate originality in all they do,” the Retailers Association of Massachusetts said of the award.
Judges visit nominees’ businesses and retail locations, and give the award based on factors such as attentive customer service, attention to detail, creative store design, and visual interest.
“We are honored to be named Retailer of the Year,” said Julie Arcari Cook, CEO of Landry & Arcari. “All of us at Landry & Arcari take intense pride in what we do —we love rugs and we strive each day to provide a seamless and exceptional customer experience. We sincerely thank our valued customers and employees as well as the Retailers Association of Massachusetts for its continued support of the Bay State’s retail community.”
The Retailers Association of Massachusetts awards were presented on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at noon, at the annual Association’s luncheon at the Conference Center at Bentley University in Waltham.
Governor Charlie Baker delivered the keynote address and weeknight news and business anchor Mike Nikitas of New England Cable News Network (NECN) presented the Awards.
To celebrate this award and as a show of appreciation to its customers, Landry & Arcari will be having a store-wide sale on all in-stock handmade rugs and carpeting, now thru December 2, 2017.

A half a chimney of charcoal spread evenly on the bottom of the charcoal grate.
A turn or two and when the grill flares up from the dripping butter close it to snuff out the flames. Easy Peasy lemon Squeezy. 5 minutes prep time 5 minutes cook time.

Local filmmaker directs North Shore actors in video messages for Department of Justice anti-opioid campaign
11-27-17
Beverly. Massachusetts video production company Ted Reed TV is working with the US Attorney’s Office Massachusetts District to create the pilot videos for the multi-platform public information campaign titled “#Resist The Risk.” The goal of the campaign is to inform the public and spur new conversations about the dangers and consequences of abusing, selling and sharing prescription opioids that has had a devastating impact on families and communities in Massachusetts.
The segments have been filmed primarily in the North Shore area, and professional actors from TV commercials, stage and film were cast along side student actors from Emerson College, Endicott College, Salem State University and Gloucester High School. Producer/Director and Gloucester resident Ted Reed says, “We want to make each one of these messages have the ring of true life to them. Using actual locations where the opioid crisis has hit hardest in Massachusetts was part of the plan to depict the actual consequences of addiction, whether they be illegal sales, theft, overly trusting parents or babies born addicted to opioid-dependent mothers. Each member of the crew and cast had a story to tell about their own experience of a loved one or an acquaintance who suffered from addiction to either prescription or illegal pain-killers.”
Reed worked with members of the US Attorney’s office developing the scripts for the videos which will be distributed on social media, web sites and other avenues. He and Director of Photography Craig Kimberley developed the look and style of the video campaign to be rolled out by the end of this year. Casting was executed by Joanne Randazza of JMedia of Gloucester.
The campaign is being officially launched Wednesday, November 29.
