City Power Restoration Efforts Continue Tonight; Residents Asked to Plan Ahead
From the Office of Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken (3PM): As many of you know, the power is out in certain areas of the City. According to National Grid, we still have 3,600 customers without power (21% of our community) but the Gloucester DPW, Police Department, and Fire Department continue to work with National Grid crews around the clock to provide support and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
We continue to work on clearing downed trees and wires. Be aware of downed limbs and always assume that a downed wire is live: DO NOT touch any wires that have fallen.
Given the widespread extent of the power outages and the uncertainty of whether power will be restored by this evening, it is important that all Gloucester residents either shelter in place or make the appropriate arrangements with family and friends as the temperature is supposed to drop during…

Mom Strong Open House at CFCA
Hey there Strong Moms! In response to the great feedback we received about our new Mom Strong program, we are holding an Open House on November 7th at 7pm at Crossfit Cape Ann!
We will have a question and answer session and a mini workout (10-15 min) to give you an idea of what kinds of things we will be doing. Light refreshments will be served after! You are welcome to bring your baby to familiarize yourself with the set-up and to see how your baby does during the short workout.
We will have a small enclosed area as well as a few pack and plays. You can also bring your own set up for your child.

Cape Ann Power Yoga is proud to announce the return of November and our policy of free yoga classes for all active duty and retired military personnel for the entire month of November. We thank you for your service and hope to provide service to you in our small way.
You are encouraged to come and take any class on our schedule and as many classes throughout the month as you wish at no cost. Additionally, we invite you to schedule a free, private introductory yoga lesson with one of our teachers to help you land comfortably at our studio if you aren’t ready to jump right in to the mix.

How Does It Feel To Turn 50? Great
So much to be thankful for. Starting with my family, Kate Loves Me, the kids are doing great, mom is so supportive, dad is no longer suffering, Felicia is kicking butt with her cookies, we’re finally settled at the new house, I have a job where I get to deal with the greatest kind of real guys you’d ever want to meet, the blog is rolling with our ever committed team of contributors. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Gloucester, Mass – October 2016 – Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken announced the appointment of Jill Cahill as Community Development Director overseeing her economic development initiatives. Upon confirmation, he is set to assume her post on October 16, 2017.

Katie Schroeder is the owner and main yoga instructor at North Shore Restorative Yoga. She has taught yoga for over a decade at many of the wonderful studios on the North Shore and holds masters degrees in conflict resolution and psychology.
