I am a live music advocate and seek to share the news of bands playing at local venues in my home town. Being drawn to blues mostly but embrace all kinds of music. One does not have to go over the bridge to hear some real fine tunes, however there are some bands that draw you elsewhere. I hope this blog is a good use to you as it is to me.
Enjoy,
Joanne
The Open Door ~ Empty Bowl Dinner
This was my first time to Open Door ~ Empty Bowl Dinner. What an excellent turn out. All the volunteers were smiling . I was amazed at the huge choice of hand crafted bowls . We had our choice of soups, beverages, breads and cookies. I had the clam chowder from Amelia’s, cobble bread from Alexanders bread. Lemon gray iced tea and got a chocolate cookie with macadamia nuts in it that has not been eaten yet. I plan to attend next year one way or another. I hope you can make next time too.

I have never been one for Hip Hop or Rap …. but since hearing Da One8 I have really come to like what this band puts out. They are smooth and entertaining. They make you wanna get up……on the dance floor. Come see for yourself.

Thursday Night Blues Party @ The Rhumb Line
From Mr. Dave Sags himself,
Something new this time around: let’s all be surprised and welcome Ms. Cheryl Arena to our stage.
( http://www.myspace.com/cherylarena ) .
According to Ed Scheer, our diaphaneous drummbler and gargling vogalist, she’s the bee’s knees, the cat’s meow. She sings; she dances; she does it all. She’s visiting the area (or arena), so let’s give her a warm welcome.
Backing up this agglomeration will be John Hyde, loving husband and jazz snob, on keys, Edd Schmeer, on drums and vocals, and,of course, Greg T. on catarrh. I’ll be there, too.

Description
Funbucket returns to Cameron`s, where we first bamboozled, I mean, “persuaded, the management into letting us “perform”, as it were. Well, finally, all is forgiven, so we`ll be back this Saturday night. Mr. Bogus said he`ll try to restrain himself from doing too much “relic-ing” on his guitars this time. Three of `em aged 10 years in one night this past Tuesday…Ah, but that`s a story for another time, Boys and Girls. Come on out to Cameron`s and maybe see something like what`s in the picture…whatever the hell THAT is!

You have to be well behaved all week, but Saturday is your night to play. Kick the family out and join The Gloucester Beatles, the singing Baird Bros. to dance the night away, singing along to songs you haven’t heard for decades but you know every word to them. Songs that no other band will dare play, but wish they could. Eat, drink and be merry at Dog Bar, Gloucester’s rock’n’roll livingroom – the former White Rainbow – it’s nothing but fun. Rave Reviews from the recent battle of the Bands bring the Tide in on a roll.
