Bradley Royds, Jake Pardee and Pete Lindberg~ Dog Bar ~ Tonight~9:00 to 12:00

Photos by Louise

Three dynamic musicians under one roof. You can not go wrong with that. I have had the opportunity to hear Bradley, Jake and Pete, each one alone and with a band. I was also able to catch the last set when they were all playing together, not to long ago at the Dog Bar. It was unique because they all have different styles among them but share that familiar passion. Sometimes you just want to sit back and have the pleasure of just listening to their creativity with all of the songs that they so eagerly share. Then again, you may want to jump right up and dance around the place.  You will see that at just about any show.

A Tribute to John Lennon with special guest Dan King Wednesday at 8:00pm

From Fly Amero,

Thirty years ago to the day…

On Monday, December 8, 1980, John Lennon was fatally shot four times in front of the Dakota Building, NYC, by Mark David Chapman after a mixing session with Yoko Ono at Record Plant Studio.  As with the Kennedy assassination, most of us remember exactly where we were when we heard the tragic news.  Upon the suggestion of bartender Michael Gallagher, Dan and I have put a modest collection of his songs together for the purpose of a special Rhumb Line tribute.  Hope you can all be there.

Feel free to bring candles and lighters. Dinner with Fly Amero: 8 – 11pm Host and perform as always

*Each week features a special, invited musical guest *Comfort food dinner specials from Dave Trooper’s kitchen

*Sponsored by Shipyard Ale Food is prepared fresh by “Troop” and is always good!

Fred features special discounted entrees with half-off on a Shipyard every week!

Charlie Farren & Jon Butcher have teamed up and collaborated as FBI

Farren/Butcher Inc.

They will be performing together as Charlie Farren & Jon Butcher – two distinct talents, who have both led world renown groups and both have performed throughout the country as well-recognized leaders of bands that have gained them both countless reviews across the country and beyond as bandleaders, and writers of popular music that has maintained its place in New England music history for countless years, through their well-known bands, and  have been mainstays in local music i.e. Jon Butcher Axis  and through various groups, that have gone under different names, but still remained  under the direction of Charlie Farren through several changes, from his bands Balloon who played at the Channel,The Jamm Band, both of which featured several luminary people in  rock history such as James Montgomery, Roger Earl of Foghat & others in local rock history. He toured with Joe Perry Project and  also  with his own group Farrenheit, which featured bassist David Hull who co wrote songs together that became rock classics, such as East Coast-West Coast and Political Vertigo and Listen to the Rock, and I,ve Got the Rock and Rolls again- they spent years together that including a new band that featured his sister Robin  and ex Berlin Airlift bassist Philip Bynoe-former Til Tuesday guitarist Robert Holmes as second lead guitarist and heavy touring brought them to open shows With Aerosmith, Brad Delp & Boston, and several other groups.

They have played over the years as Farren  with New England, the Fools, Aimee Mann, and has now started a new collaboration with  a veteran rocker who will be joining forces to create a new sound. Both have performed in front of thousands all across the country and they bring their experience as rockers to the Cruiseport Terminal in Gloucester this Friday Dec 10 @ 8 p.m.to help the Vernal Pond Group – help the environmental issues that now have become serious issues.

Proceeds will be donated to their continuance of resources that are on Cape Ann.

Cellist Kristen Miller Warms The Season with a Holiday CD Release Concert December 11

“Open your mind and Let miller’s playing spiral in; you’ll be captivated by the sound.” –Chris Hislop, The Spotlight

Award-winning contemporary cellist Kristen Miller and critically acclaimed producer/engineer/composer Tom Eaton will release a brand new Holiday CD with a concert on December 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Cape Ann Community Cinema, 21 Main Street, Gloucester.

The CD, entitled Winter Loves Company, is a sweet mix of cello and piano with a Windham Hill sensibility. It includes fresh arrangements of traditional Christmas carols as well as original seasonal compositions by both Kristen and Tom.

Kristen is a classically trained cellist who has been pushing the boundaries of the instrument for the past eight years with her rich, multilayered trademark style. She plugs her antique Parisian cello into a digital phrase recorder and effects pedals to stack layers of percussive and buttery cello sound.  Billboard’s Bobby Borg calls her music “romantically, hauntingly, charmingly brilliant.”

Tom Eaton, who is best known as a contemporary folk producer, (Vance Gilbert, Ellis Paul, Melissa Ferrick) has had his work featured on ABC, NPR, and Bravo. For this reason, most people are used to seeing Tom on the other side of the glass, behind the recording console. But on this record, Tom premiers five of his most beautiful piano compositions, and the listener is in for a real treat.

The Noise proclaims: “When the holiday snow is falling and you’re sitting cozily by a fireplace, Winter Loves Company is the perfect soundtrack for the hypnotic flames dancing before you.”

Concert Details:
