As part of Cerebral Hemorrhage Week we’re proud to offer free trepanning demonstrations on the privacy of your own barstool. Cordless drills provided. We’ve even hired the commodious Dr. Steve Sadler to help to defray the cost of an entire rosy, new outlook. Hotflash debunker and Propofol® enthusiast, he’s sure to keep your mind in mind as we troll thru the river Lethe, looking for…what? Great tunes ensue. The fur will fly.   Padding out our Xmas lineup will be that local wunderkind, Mr. John Loud, on ticking valves and tappets. Drummbs, too. A groove of glue. Of course, Greg T., on catarrh, and myself, on base, complete the aggravation. A splendid time for all!     And may I take a moment to thank you all for your continued support down thru the years. Without your support we’d be less than zero. Please enjoy the holidays responsibly. The Blooz Party is safe when taken as directed. OMG THATS SOME SIRIUS RADIO: We just know everyone we care about would want to hear that The Bandits spent last Sunday afternoon at Bang-A-Song Studios in Gloucester recording a live radio show for Sirius XM Satellite Radio. No, really. More info TBA.

MINI TOUR! Tomorrow, Friday, December 16 the BKs play the Plough and Stars in Cambridge with the guitar-iffic Brad Byrd; then on Saturday, December 17 Bandits Ann Marie and Dan King take a road trip up the line to Burlington, VT (they promised Flash they’d take her to the Ben & Jerry’s headquarters if she went with them…) where they’ll join Mr. Byrd at Radio Bean Coffeehouse (the place for those in the know, y’know?). 2ND ANNUAL MIGHTY FANCY NEW YEARS: The Bandit Kings and the BFs are hosting the Rhumbline’s NYE Party again this year and if the pictures from last year are any indication of how much friggen fun it was (cause we can’t remember it all for some reason), then this year is going to be EPIC.

SPECIAL THANKS: Well. It’s been quite a month and we need to get a couple of thank you’s out there. You might already know that the BKs sophomore album, Epic Hello, was officially released on November 5, 2011. At the same time, the band’s pretty mugs were on the cover of the November issue of The Noise-Boston, and Mr. Tee Max, editor of the said Noise, made that happen (along with his awesome ladyfriend, Ann, who distributes the zine EVERWHARE!). Tee also co-sponsored the Gloucester Epic Hello CD Release Party along with big music supporters Peter and Vicki Van Ness at Gimmesound. What you might not know is that It is because of our photographically inclined den mother Louise Welch that The Noise even knows we exist, and because of a remarkably well written article by Mrs. Samantha Goddess that the Bandit Kings came off sounding like a grown-up band with real instruments. The Bandit Kings are:
Renee Dupuis on lead vocals and keys, Ann Marie, also on lead vocals, Dennis Monagle on drums, Joe Cardoza on bass, and Dan King on lead guitar. The Bandit Kings’ play original tunes written by the band members and hot b-sides by classic artists for longer shows. They have found bare-bones musical chemistry, including the rich meld of vocalists Ann Marie and Dupuis, who “both have voices that bring us back to the dawn of country rock, whisky soaked and raspy in just the right places while never crossing into the overpowering. The Jake Pardee Band returns to Gloucester to kick off holdiay festivities this saturday night @ the Minglewood Tavern/Lat 43 @ 9pm. Joining Jakes band is Antoine Katz from Normandy, France and Sam Ward from Ipswich. All members attend Berklee College of Music in Boston and perform on Jake Pardee’s new CD to be released in 2012.

Just in time for xmas, ladies and germs, May I present to you Ms. Cheryl Arena? One of our most requested singers and harpslingers, and a big time traveller, too, just having returned from Austin, TX., where she purrformed at the I. G. Farben Phocomelus Convention to a nearly standing ovation . Knocked ‘em right over! Cheryl makes it up here to yankee-land 2 or 3x a year and we’re glad to have her. Great energy!   Pushing her along will be that organ octopus, Mr. John Cameron, who needed minor surgery after backing up Lisa Marie last week. And that friendly drummer, Mr. Jeff Casper will be on the diving board all nite long. Of, course Greg T. and myself will be there, too, hastily lumping the sandbags into place. A big dancing nite!

ACOUSTIC HOLIDAY COFFEEHOUSE , Sat. Dec. 10th

Time:  7:00 pm – 9 pm at the newly formed Crosswinds Coffeehouse in the First Baptist Church, 38 Gloucester Ave, off Grant Circle in Gloucester.  

The Honky Tonk Women of Gloucester will open the evening with several medley’s of 60’s girls group hits, as well as the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Bobby Darin and more. Throughout the evening guests will have the opportunity to sing-a-long with several holiday songs.
The acoustic duo Wild Maple will also take the stage.  Wild Maple’s repertoire is a wide range of folk, bluegrass, 60’s & up pop, originals and an occasional Celtic or bluegrass instrumentals in the mix.  Wild Maple will join in with several members of Honky Tonk Women to form a circle of song creating an easy listening night of acoustic music featuring guitarists Gary Dolinsky and Ron Schrank.  Vocalists include Elaine “Patsy Cline” Persons, Caroline Haines, Barbara Jansson, Sheila Schrank on guitar and vocals along with Trish DeCaprio and her haunting violin.   A unique “spa themed” gift basket, $1 per chance door prize will go home with one participant.  Refreshments, delicious homemade desserts, coffee, tea and beverages are affordably available from the kitchen.  A $10 donation is requested at the door.  Come early for best seating.

It’s Simian Appreciation Week  at the Rhumb Line so we’re all trimming our eyebrow in anticipation of the return of Ms. Lisa Marie to our stage. The divine Miss LM, known around here as the premier songstress of da blooze will once again be bringing  her own special brand of hot sauce to your eyes and ears. We’ll even be pulling some xmas chestnuts out of the fire and into your pineal gland, so, watch out!!

We’re baack…., After spending a grueling Thanksgiving week off recuperating from  cosmetic  genital mutilation surgery, I’m back, loaded for bear , and ready to chase you back to whatever evil crevice you squirted out from. So, in keeping with the spirit of the season, I give you: Mr. Evan Goodreau. Just back from the Tarzan Musical Re-Education® Camp, our boy is ready to snort you in and exhale you back into the world of chance. Serial-husband, glitarist, front-man and back door man, Evan’s poised  to melt the wax outa your ears. We love this guy. He’s nearly as full of s*** as I am!    And, of course, to round out the ensemble to the nearest decibel, we’ve conjured up Mr. “Molto” Benny Benson, the Ace of Pace, on eggbeaters, as well as Mr. Greg T. and myself, usual suspects, on catarrh and bass. Don’t miss it! And girls: grief counsellors will be available and standing by.   And for those of you who are un- or under employed, or who have chosen not to find a job*, come wheel yourself in to the Rose Baker Senior Center next Monday afternoon and catch the shenanagans of the Good Ole Salty Jazz Band (or GOSJB), of which I am a small part of. These cats swing! And it’s FREE!! From 1 to 3, we’ll be there, sweating profusely….   And finally, I need some more willing victims for my wayward messages. The mail list has been winnowed down, due to many address changes, returned messages, deaths, etc., etc., so, if you got any new or updated addresses for me, pass ’em along!
