Reopening night with Lez Zeppelin last Friday was electric! Little Sister was slinging burgers and the place was hopping with people playing games in the restaurant and rocking out to the band in the venue. We have Gang of Four coming up this Friday and even though the show is sold out you can still come for a good time with great food , drinks and games! Our featured show next week is Zach Nugent with Sunshine Garcia-Becker (yes, Jerry’s daughter!) and it’s a guaranteed good time so grab your tickets while they last. Little Sister is with us all of April and the vibe is fast casual with QR code ordering right from your phone and a text when food is ready. Full bar always available plus all new arcade games , board games and pool. You don’t need tickets to the show to come and enjoy a fun night out! Tickets are still available but going fast.

Did you know you have options available for the upcoming April 24 Special Municipal Election (regarding 3A)? I will be manning one of the tables next Thursday during regular voting hours 7 AM- 8 PM (not at my own polling place) so I chose to vote early at City Hall. It’s a very smooth and easy process. Early voting hours are regular business hours for City Hall Wednesday April 16 8:30-4 PM; Thursday April 17 8:30-6:30 PM; and Friday April 18 from 8:30-12:30 PM. This and other options are detailed on the City’s website link here. It’s one question and you select between Yes and No.

Looking for a unique and engaging summer program for middle or high school students? GMGI’s Summer STEM programming is now accepting registrations!
Our Summer STEM programs are one-week courses designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience hands-on science in a biotechnology laboratory.
Held in Gloucester Biotechnology’s state-of-the-art teaching labs at Blackburn Center, students are immersed in authentic laboratory investigations and use cutting-edge biotechnology equipment, the scientific method, and critical thinking to analyze samples and make data-driven conclusions.
The course is taught by Academy staff and does not require any previous science or lab experience. Each student will have ample guidance and support in these real-world investigations. All students ages 13 to 18 are welcome to apply!

Since my view of the inner harbor is usually during a sail, I decided to walk some of the way-inner waterfront yesterday.

There’s a million reasons why this is such a superior product:
Effective: spray on and it literally lifts dirt and grime with barely any effort.
Safe and non-caustic: So many cleaners contain bleach products that literally destroy your seat cushions.
Better packaging and applicator: The spray bottle is way better than any standard spray bottle. Built for durability. The label is not paper so it holds up instead of disintegrating and making a mess like other brands.
Cost: Competitive pricing, costing less than other older outdated brands that have stood pat on older technology.

In Depth…

Art and politics have pretty much always gone hand in hand.
We, the People, a benefit group show opening at Jane Deering Gallery in Gloucester on May 10th features 30 artists and counting (including Peter Cady, Ann Conneman, Linda Eckstrom, Nella Lush, and others) utilizing their art, activism, and fundraising in response to current politics. Proceeds will support a future Democratic candidate.
Read more about the show from Jane Deering Gallery:

May 10-26, 2025
Jane Deering Gallery | Opening Reception | Saturday May 10th . 1-5pm
We, The People will be an exhibition of artworks by over 30 artists with whom the gallery has collaborated for many years. 85% of sales will go to support a Democratic candidate running in the midterm elections (2026). The chosen candidate could be from any State in the country, and will be decided by committee.
It is our opinion that collective action is required in these troubling times. And it is our hope that this exhibition will be supported by those in our community who desire to do something, and will take action alongside us.
Artworks will be quality work by recognized and established artists, as well as emerging artists. Prices are fair and affordable. The gallery does not wish to ask artists to donate work. Too often artists are asked to give work for free, receiving no remuneration. Artists will receive 10% from sales, which in itself is a meager sum. The gallery to receive 5%. The gallery is grateful to the participating artists for this agreement.
Millions of American citizens are concerned about what is happening to our Constitution, to the respect for law, to the disregard of our long-standing Allies, for threats the President is making to take over Sovereign nations, for the continued lies and falsehoods spread by the President and his Administration, and for the mean and careless treatment of the poor, the disabled, the persecuted persons in our country and abroad.
The gallery and the artists would like you to have a special work of art. We are not asking for outright donations. Thank you for collectively taking a stand with us.
Artworks will be uploaded to the Jane Deering Gallery (here) as they are submitted.
In the meantime head downtown instead for coffee instead of Starbucks to some of our awesome coffee shops. Caffe Sicilia, Castaways, Lone Gull, Cape Ann Coffee

I took a ride out to Wingaersheek recently as it was a beautiful sunny day. I’m glad I took the ride. It was super relaxing. Ahhhh Wingahhhhh….
