Over the years, the Annual Art Auction, a major fundraiser for the Rockport Art Association & Museum (RAA&M), has become a highly anticipated event. As a prestigious art auction, it attracts serious collectors throughout the country, as well as those just starting an art collection.

Live online from the RAA&M’s Hibbard Gallery, this year’s auction features works by master Cape Ann artists of the past including Aldro T. Hibbard, Emile Gruppé, Anthony Thieme, Antonio Cirino, Jane Peterson, W. Lester Stevens, Paul Strisik, Charles Paul Gruppé, Gordon Grant, Carl W. Peters, William Meyerowitz, Emma Fordyce MacRae, and Frederick J. Waugh, among many others. The auction specializes in Cape Ann art, but is not limited to this region and also includes works by numerous other prominent historic American artists. Also represented in this year’s auction are John Marin, Paul Dougherty, Harrison Bird Brown, and Daniel Ridgway Knight.

The auction, now in its 39th year, began with a bequest by founding RAA&M member Antonio Cirino (1888-1983). Cirino left his artwork to the Association with the stipulation that the art be auctioned to help support the organization. The auction quickly evolved to include other historic Cape Ann artists, and has been the Association’s major annual fundraising event ever since.

Rainy Day Trip To Aloha Mini Glow golf

When our family visited recently, we knew the weather was going to turn rainy and we were seeking appropriate indoor activities to entertain a nine year old as well as a three year old. Luckily, our friend Chris Langathianos clued us in to the Aloha Mini Glow Golf course in the Northshore Mall. The area is BRIGHT and glowing though the space is a little small. There are 18 holes and you can play up to three rounds with admission. Admission was reasonable and the course was challenging enough for the older child and the adults. It was a quiet weekday afternoon so we had the place to ourselves for most of our visit. The toddler enjoyed it, but if there aren’t older children or adults that you need to entertain in the rain, I wouldn’t suggest that particular activity. The pricing is reasonable. The mall provided further distractions (including the play area for the younger children) so it was a win-win.

Senior Care Meals On Wheels

Joey, Can you help us promote our Meals on Wheels Breakfast Fundraiser.  This is our 50th Anniversary of the Linquata Family (The Gloucester House) sponsoring this event.

I have included our ticket and sponsor information and some pictures throughout the years if that makes it more interesting, if not, no problem.

SeniorCare provides meals to those over 60 years of age and older.  Our home delivered meals program brings a meal right to the door to frail elders.  This also proves a quick daily visit from a caring person. We provided 188,272 meals to older adults in our 9 communities last year.   More information and Breakfast links can be found onwww.seniorcareinc.org.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Thank you!
