It’s Only a Paper Moon…

We stopped by Boo Bird on Central St in Manchester for lunch recently. We had not been there in quite a while and we’ve been wanting to return. It was quiet in there that afternoon and Jennifer took great care of us. Jim really enjoyed the opportunity to build his own burger to enjoy with the tater tots. I tried the steak and cheese sub which was just a little different that a typical steak and cheese. I liked it very much. Thanks, Boo Bird, for a great lunch experience!

Don’t miss our final Science Hour of the season!
To wrap up this winter season of talks, GMGI welcomes our neighbor (in Boston), Dr. Jeff Kneebone, Senior Scientist at the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium. His work sheds light on the mysterious underwater life of some of New England’s resident fish through the use of two very different, but complimentary, techniques – electronic tagging and DNA analysis.
Join us on Thursday, February 29th at 7p for Dr. Kneebone’s talk, Magic Markers – How Electronic Tags and DNA Help Us Understand the Life of Marine Fishes and the Impact Humans Have on Them. Click here to register!
As always, the GMGI Science Hour is free and available to all who are interested!

When driving down Magnolia Avenue the beautiful Sculptures from Horseshoes and Repurposed Metal by local artist Kris Francis, always makes you want to look carefully at this amazing piece of art.
On Saturday, talked with Kris and he told me that there is about 900 horseshoes and this horse weighs almost 800 pounds. The eyelashes are made from horseshoe nails. Kris is a very kind and talented artist. The detail of the eyes, mouth, ears and tails are clear. You can find his information on Instagram JKFmetal. Thank you, Kris, for talking with me today.
