This November Rockport Music hosts a Fall Jazz Weekend, a variety of folk concerts and more 

This November at Rockport Music’s Shalin Liu Performance Center opens with a dynamic Fall Jazz Weekend (November 2-5, 2023) that starts with Christian McBride’s New Jawn on November 2 at 8 p.m., with their recently released sophomore album, Prime. An eight-time GRAMMY Award winning bassist, composer and bandleader, Christian McBride stands as one of the most revered jazz artists of our time. In addition to Christian on double bass, New Jawn features trumpeter Josh Evans, saxophonist/bass clarinetist Marcus Strickland and drummer Nasheet Waits.  Tickets: $50-$72

The Fall Jazz Weekend continues on Saturday, November 4 at 8 p.m. with the Steven Feifke Triofresh off his 2023 Grammy win for Best Large Jazz Ensemble (along with Bijon Watson). In this concert, pianist/composer Steven Feifke brings his trio in support of his latest album Catalyst, as well as his upcoming album Role of The Rhythm Section, vol. 2. This new album shows the integral role of the rhythm section in big band playing but presented in an intimate trio setting. Tickets: $29-$39

The weekend continues with jazz pianist Harold López-Nussa on Sunday, November 5 at 5 p.m. with a brand-new album Timba a la Americana. The acclaimed Cuban jazz pianist makes his long-awaited return to Rockport bringing his band featuring Swiss jazz harmonica hero Grégoire Maret, bassist Luques Curtis and drummer Ruy Adrian López-Nussa.  Tickets: $35-$49
