Topside Bistro Gets “Down & Derby” on May 6

New Gloucester hangout celebrates 149th “Run for the Roses”

Topside Bistro – formerly Topside Grille & Pub, that recently opened in Gloucester under new ownership and management – is gearing up for the 149th“Run for the Roses” by hosting a Kentucky Derby viewing party. In honor of Derby Day, sip on a twist of the official drink of Churchill Downs with the Larceny Mint Julep ($10) with lightly muddled mint, simple syrup, Larceny bourbon, and a double dash of angostura bitters served over crushed ice. From executive chef Sal Valenti’s kitchen, dig into a Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwich ($17) served open-faced with layered thinly-sliced turkey on buttery grilled Texas toast topped with creamy Kentucky mornay sauce, thick-cut applewood smoked bacon and sliced tomato.

Because the “greatest two minutes in sports” is upstaged by few things every year, come dressed to impress because there will be prizes for those who prove to be “Best in Show.” For “Best Dressed,” bring home a $100 gift card back to Topside; for “Best Couple Ensemble,” a $50 gift card; and for “Best Hat,” a $25 gift card.
