JB comments on St Pete

Hi Joey!

Emoji

We are transplanted North Shore residents, who moved to this general area (about a1/2 hr from St Pete), when our daughter & son in law were transferred to FL & asked us to please move with them 2 yrs ago. But, Mass & Gloucester will always be home.
We keep in touch via GMG, & thought that since you’re in the St Pete area, we’d recommend a few places we think you’d like.
We agree that St Pete has a pretty cool vibe- they’ve done a great job there. The Imagine Museum is worth a visit.
if you have time, you might want to visit Dunedin, only about 1/2 hr from St Pete. It’s a small seaside town with a Scottish heritage. Al Fresco Cafe has good food & a nice ambiance. While in Dunedin, be sure to take the Causeway to Honeymoon Island. You can take a beach walk there at North Beach, if you have time & the inclination.
We miss Gloucester, Mass & New England, Harbor Cove Dental, walking the blvd by the Fisherman’s Statue, and more…….But, we didn’t miss the 10′ of snow that Mass just rec’d.
We also feel lucky that the GOAT is here with the Bucs. Gronk too.
Have a great time!

Ready and Waiting

We did a couple of drive bys, but the ponds weren’t quite ready….the hockey nets had to stand by ready to go for another day. Luckily, today’s frigid temps should help.

The Difference a Day Makes

One day it was snowy, windy and grey. The next day sunny and calm but cold. Good Harbor Beach at high tide in the snow and low tide in the sun less than 24 hours later. I love this place we call home.

Snow, Sun, Rain, Gone — pat morss

Nice snow over the weekend, but then warmer with rain and it was gone.

Pristine and quiet next morning
Snowshoes beat me out to enjoy it
Shaft of sunlight on a Station of the Cross

Frozen tidal pond
Afternoon walk around Niles Pond

Central Ave In St Petersburg Florida Is Chock Full Of Cool Small Shops Like St Pete Meat

Not all towns have the texture enough to carry a blog like we do on GMG. I think you could do a pretty good job coming up with interesting things to write about in downtown St Petersburg. This is a really fun town with one of my number one requirements for travel- a long street lined with outdoor cafe’s and restaurants. St Pete has them in spades.

A couple of leaves of a snow filled trees

Walking out to Rafe’s Chasm after the snow, the trees were beautiful with a couple of lonely leaves.

The Happy Humpback is open

Rick and I went to the Happy Humpback Café on Sunday morning.  It was delicious. The staff was very helpful and friendly.  Highly recommend this restaurant and Magnolia welcomes a great café in the neighborhood.   The address is 2 Lexington Avenue, Magnolia, Gloucester, MA.  (978) 704-9080.  Enjoy

Lobster Trap Tree Dressed in Snow

The Lobster Trap tree looked extra pretty following the snowfall! I don’t know how much more time we have to enjoy it this year but it has certainly brought a great deal of joy to date.
