Gloucester, MA – The Rocky Neck Art Colony is proud to present Integral Beauty at the Cove Gallery (37 Rocky Neck Avenue), from September 2- 26, 2021. Integral Beauty is a collaboration of five artists, Rebecca Anne Nagle, Rē Siswick Graham, Loren Doucette, Rosemary Sullivan, and Celeste Huezo, who use their media to respond to the varying beauty found within nature, spirituality, and humanity. Cross sections of beauty that are seen through each artist’s own unique filter that culminate into a visceral experience for the viewer.
Rebecca Anne Nagle captures moments in time with sensitivity of mark, immersive color and empathy for the subject matter through undulation of reality and abstraction.
Rosemary Sullivan’s still lifes draw inspiration from local flowers and the landscape of Cape Ann and are celebrated by her colorful palette.
Loren Doucette extends her breadth as an artist and works in many styles pursuing a balance between abstraction and realism. The work ranges from local scenes of Gloucester to highly emotional abstract paintings.
Rē Siswick Graham explores the beautiful structure of nature within its molecular composition. Her abstraction is often expressed in a variety of media.
Celeste Huezo is a printmaker fascinated by color, heritage, and repetition. As a first generation daughter of immigrants, her art expresses her desire to find identity in Salvadoran and Latin American culture. Her main medium is screen printing on Saltillo tiles along with cut paper exploration.
The Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC) was founded in the mid-19th century and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 1973. With the creation of the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck in 2012, RNAC programs are reaching a wider demographic as the visual arts focus is expanding to include more diverse cultural and educational offerings. The Cultural Center is located at 6 Wonson Street, Gloucester, MA 01930. For more information visit www.rockyneckartcolony.org.

Governor’s Park is such a little gem in this beautiful city. Although, I happened to notice tonight that the sign may be misspelled. The expansive view lessens during the summer months when the trees are full and in bloom, but the park is extra beautiful. In the “off season” things aren’t so lush and pretty, but the view expands! So, either way it is a gorgeous spot to sit for a bit. Click on the post to see the view.

We are trying it again! The postponed Cape Ann Makers Market WILL BE HELD tonight Thursday Aug 26 at the Paint Factory and Ocean Alliance from 4-8 PM. I will have notecards, prints and other gifts available and if you mention GMG, there is a discount on whale items (excepting notecards)! Contributor Donna Ardizzoni will also be there along with Cape Ann Sea Salt and Hold Fast. Looking forward to meeting you tonight to benefit Ocean Alliance. It’s the final Culture Splash event for Summer 2021 so don’t miss out.
