About the Author ~ Hallie Baker started learning how to make chocolates half her life ago, and hasn’t stopped since. She opened Turtle Alley Chocolates in Gloucester, MA. in 1999, and Turtle Alley II in Salem MA. in 2002. Her chocolates have been featured in Gourmet Magazine, Saveur, Roadfood, The Boston Globe, The Splendid Table, the Food Network’s Roker on the Road, the Rachel Ray show, Tonia’s Kitchen, and more.
Having studied painting in college, her parent’s sage advice to work in the food business kept her fed, but ultimately led her to her chocolatier-ing ways. Now playing with flavor is as much fun as painting was back in the day. This is Hallie’s first book. Fingers crossed for many more!

The Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC) presents the third annual Holiday Art and Crafts Festival, open to the public on five consecutive weekends starting with a preview party from 6 to 8pm on Friday November 27 at the Cultural Center on Rocky Neck, 6 Wonson Street, Gloucester. The Holiday Festival is open for holiday viewing and shopping from 10 am to 6 pm, Saturdays and Sundays Nov. 28-29, Dec. 5-6, Dec. 12-13, Dec. 19-20, and Dec. 26-27. The public is invited to enjoy a festive event each weekend.

This year’s performance has moved to Gloucester, Massachusetts’ Tavern on the Harbor. The new location will afford our guests a more comfortable viewing and listening experience, a full bar and convenient access to parking.

Due to impending Turkey-eating holiday this week, We are commandeering Wednesday night at the Rhumb Line for a night of pre-digestive exercise. This means the heavy dancing guns.
So, C’mon down and boogie your scruples away to Mr. Orville Giddings and crew, featuring The Tower of Kielbasa Horns. That’s world-famous Mr. Marque Earley on honkophone and Tootin’ Tom Palance, on strumpet. Furthermore, a new guy: Mr. Kent Allyn will be poking’ those ivories in the nose. Wait till you hear this guy! Li’l Steevee Chaggaris will be thumpin’ and I’ll be basic. We’re gonna start a li’l later, too: 9 to midnight. Comport or contort yourself! Ask your yoga instructor if The Blues Bash is right for you!
