Dear Joey,
Spars and sails on deck, rigging in progress, engine room looking good, bulk heads completed except for finish work.

What’s the engine? Looks to be “Palmer green” in color, but I can’t identify it for sure.

The engine is a Detroit Diesel 6-71N with a twin disc generator – an unused miltary surplus that was wonderful donation from Mr. Knott.

Jim Knott is a great guy. He and his wife were in my gallery yesterday. There’s a lot of potential for a GMG article there.

Oh, I see now! It’s a 6-71 LP (tilted to the side about 45 degrees to make it lower.) I missed that on first glance. These are very reliable engines with a LONG life! Best of luck with it!!
