Stand Proud America
By Peter A. Todd 06/02’2013

The Fourth of July is a historic date
It is the day a document was signed
Giving to the people of our United States
A parchment symbolizing Freedom never to go blind
As the bells of Liberty ring out their song
Let us give thanks for those who sacrificed and died
For this great land that we belong
In which our heritage has kept Freedom alive
Stand proud America as Old Glory waves
Over land and across the stormy seas
Truly these United States is the home of the brave
That even now fights for others to be free
As the days light turns into dark
Let us seek to pay attention to our young
It is our countries future that will be in their trust
In reality the Freedom of all has only begun
With hand over our hearts we salute our flag
Its colors of red white and blue
As the American eagle soars above the clouds
This is the symbol of Freedom we hold true

Thx Marty. Veterans for Peace got a rousing reception as they marched by where I was sitting in Rkpt parade! There was a larger group this year, also.
